Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and Limbo are the Epic Games Store' s free games for May 29. These two diametrically opposite titles will be free to claim for Epic Games Store users until early June 2025.
Starting on May 8, Epic paused its usual practice of announcing new EGS freebies a week in advance, opting instead to do mystery game promotions, with titles revealed only when they become claimable. Since then, the company has offered five mystery games to EGS users and committed to giving away two more on May 29.
Epic Games Store: A Comprehensive List Of Every Free Game It's Had To Date
Here's a list of all the games that have been made free on the Epic Games Store. You have until January 15 to get the current free game.
The Fortnite maker has now made good on that promise, revealing Limbo and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands as its latest two freebies. Both became claimable at 11am ET on May 29, from the moment the Epic Games Store's uncharacteristically large May 22 giveaway came to an end. Continuing this trend, PC gamers can claim Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and Limbo for exactly one week, until June 5.

In terms of what's actually on offer here, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a fantasy-themed Borderlands spin-off set in a tabletop RPG designed by the titular Tiny Tina. Released in March 2022, the game blends the looter-shooter mechanics of the Borderlands franchise with swordplay, spellcasting, and some tabletop-inspired elements. It's regularly priced at $59.99, though also frequently on sale. As of May 2025, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands holds a "Strong" rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 78 and a 76% reviewer recommendation rate. This places it firmly in the middle of the series in terms of critical acclaim, above the likes of New Tales from the Borderlands and Borderlands Legends, but below fan favorites like the first two mainline entries.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was never before free on the Epic Games Store. The current promotion marks the fourth Borderlands product that the storefront gave away over the past half a decade, after Borderlands: The Handsome Collection in 2020, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure in 2021, and Borderlands 3 in 2022.
The other May 29 freebie, Limbo, is an entirely different proposition, being a creepy puzzle platformer with a haunting atmosphere and a minimalist storyline. Developed by Danish studio Playdead, Limbo went on to win multiple accolades following its 2010 release, and is nowadays widely regarded as one of the most influential indie games ever made. The artsy title was already offered for free on the Epic Games Store once before, back in July 2019. Looking ahead, Epic’s ongoing mystery game promotion will continue with two new titles for a fourth consecutive week on June 5.
