However, the Epic Games Store occasionally features mystery games that are only revealed once they become available to claim. In the latest example of this trend, the March 20 content rotation saw the storefront announce that the following week's freebies would consist of two mystery games.

The Epic Games Store's March 27 freebies have now been revealed in the form of Cat Quest and Neko Ghost, Jump! As per usual, both can now be added to one's account via the EGS website or app. They will be available for exactly one week, until 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm CET on April 3.

In terms of what's actually on offer here, Neko Ghost, Jump is a cute platformer with a Paper Mario twist—allowing players to switch between 2D and 3D perspectives at will. All of its levels are designed with this mechanic in mind, requiring players to constantly alternate perspectives in order to get past a wide variety of obstacles. One obvious difference between Neko Ghost, Jump and the Paper Mario games is that this indie title is largely focused on speedrunning rather than exploration. Developed by Burgos Games, Neko Ghost, Jump initially launched in January 2022 as an early access title. It's still waiting for a version 1.0 release three years later.
Cat Quest is the Epic Games Store's second free cat-themed game for March 27. This The Gentlebros-developed title is a 2D action RPG with picturesque visuals and hectic combat. It was initially released in August 2017 to fairly positive reviews, as underlined by its "Strong" rating on OpenCritic, derived from an average score of 76 and a 60% reviewer recommendation rate. The protagonist of Cat Quest is a yellow feline on a mission to save his sister, who gets abducted during the game's opening sequence. Cat Quest features largely gear-based progression, similar to many other ARPGs. Unlike Neko Ghost, Jump, Cat Quest was already available on the Epic Games Store in the past, but only for a single day in December 2023.
The next EGS freebie will launch on April 3. Much like this week's offerings, the April 3 title is another mystery game that won't be announced in advance. Epic has hinted at the upcoming title also being cat-themed.
