The Epic Games Store mega sale is ending in just a day. As part of it, the mystery games that were offered as part of it will be rotated out, and the weekly giveaways will return in their place. Each Epic Games Store set of mystery games this year has been something worth grabbing, and the last pair isn't an exception.

Many people like checking out what games are being offered on the Epic Games Store each week, hoping they might find a rare diamond in the rough, while others wait for bigger releases from prominent studios. Today is their lucky day, as Arkane Studios developed one of the freebies on offer right now. Players can pick up Deathloop at no extra cost, and maybe cleanse their palate with the other title on offer, Ogu and the Secret Forest, at the same time. However, they have to act fast, as these freebies leave on June 12.

Epic Games Store Free Game Ogu and the Secret Forest Explained

Ogu and the Secret Forest is a Game About Friendship and Mystery

This game from Monolab Studio and Sinkhole Studio is as cozy as they come. Gamers are invited into a hand-drawn world of cute characters, taken on an adventure as a platypus-like creature that just wants to see everything and help everyone they can. According to the Epic Games Store page for the game, it has some challenging boss fights underneath its charming surface. Ogu and the Secret Forest is primarily a puzzle game, described as being Zelda-like with so many collectibles that some players have voiced being overwhelmed by it all. Thankfully, it allows players to enjoy things at their own pace, with it only taking about 8 hours to finish Ogu and the Secret Forest's story if that's all they wish to do. If players want more, completing the game fully might take them roughly 22 and a half hours. That's quite a lot of content for players to dive into at no cost, which makes Ogu's story a steal as an Epic Games freebie.

Epic Games Store Free Game Deathloop Explained

Deathloop is One of the Most Highly-Praised First-Person Shooters Out There

As an assassin named Colt Vahn, gamers have eight targets on an island they need to kill before the end of the day. It may sound easy, but things aren't as simple as they seem. Deathloop gets its name from its timeloop mechanic, leaving Colt to seek out his targets before midnight strikes and his day restarts all over again. Players will need to learn from failed attempts to optimize their run, as leaving just one of the targets alive at the end of the day will trigger the loop.

Colt's story isn't the only thing Deathloop offers, either. Players can take control of antagonist Julianna in online multiplayer to invade other players' games, allowing fans to have a real opponent to test their cunning and skills against. This interesting multiplayer dynamic alone makes Deathloop a must-play for those interested in picking it up for free, and that's not even going into the rave reviews that give the title a Mighty rating on OpenCritic.

These two last mystery games of the Epic Games Store mega sale couldn't be any more different from one another, but that's ultimately great for those who enjoy all that the promotion offers. The free games promotion does a terrific job at either offering plenty of content for a specific set of players, or showcasing a fascinating selection of genres between weeks and paired-up freebies. As the regular weekly free games return after the mega sale ends, games like Deathloop will only come around once every blue moon, so if fans are interested, they need to add these titles to their libraries while they still can. With less than 24 hours to do so, though, they have to act very fast.
