Mechanic's Gunsmith quests are one of the easiest to do in Escape From Tarkov, assuming players have a healthy stock of items or a fat wallet. Unlike the vast majority of other quests, these only involve tinkering with weapons to meet the stats requested by Mechanic's clients.
Escape From Tarkov: All Interchange Extraction Points
There are many Extraction Points on the Interchange map in Escape From Tarkov, and some are easier to use than others.
However, as easy as modding weapons sounds, this is far from simple. It takes a fair bit of game knowledge to modify a gun to a specific standard, and depending on how wealthy you are, Gunsmith quests can and will take longer than usual. Here's a quick guide on the first Gunsmith quest for Escape From Tarkov.
Escape From Tarkov Gunsmith 1
This job will have you modifying an MP-133 shotgun to meet the following stats:
- 60 Durability
- 850 Recoil (or less)
- Size of at most 4 cells
- Must have an extended magazine
- Must have any tactical device (flashlight or laser module)
- 47 Ergonomics or greater
Ideally, you should only start Gunsmith quests after you unlock your Workbench and the Flea Market. The former unlocks the weapon modding screen while the latter gives you access to the entire player-driven economy, potentially giving you an easier time getting the attachments you need to meet Gunsmith's requirements. However, Gunsmith 1 can be easily completed using aftermarket parts from LL1 traders.
|
Part Name |
Source |
|---|---|
|
MP-133/153 Plastic Pistol Grip |
Jaeger LL1 |
|
MP-133/153 Custom Plastic Forestock with Rails |
Mechanic LL1 |
|
NCStar Tactical Blue Laser LAM-Module |
Skier LL1 |
As of the 0.14.0 update, these are all the parts you need to get an MP-133 kitted up for Gunsmith 1. You no longer need to attach a muzzle brake, thanks to the gun's reduced recoil. If you're lucky, you may find an MP-133 from a random Scav that already has one or several of these attachments installed. However, whenever you're picking up an MP-133 or buying one from the Flea Market, make sure that the durability is at or over 60.
If you've already unlocked Jaeger, you can simply buy one of these shotguns from his store, assuming he has any in stock. You can also get a modded MP-133 from Mechanic by giving him two Elite Pliers and a screwdriver. You'll have to replace the grip with a stockless one and remove many of the attached parts to meet the size and Ergo requirements. Still, this is a great barter if you don't particularly care about using the shotgun yourself and just want to be done with the quest.
Completing this quest rewards you with the usual array of money, XP, and trader reputation, along with some makeshift.50 caliber shotgun slugs, a pack of screws and bolts, and the right to purchase the AR-15 Windham Weaponry Rail Gas Block from Mechanic.
