Keen-eyed gamers have uncovered a secret map hiding in the tactical FPS Escape from Tarkov, and the expanse is not for the faint-hearted. Escape from Tarkov players can explore the fictional region of Norvinsk and take part in raids, either in a group or through solo play, and have access to a variety of maps, including locations like the Streets of Tarkov, Ground Zero, and Shoreline.

Escape from Tarkov was first released in 2017 by Battlestate Games, following the war between two military companies: the United Security (USEC) and the Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR). Escape from Tarkov received a brand-new update for February 2025, which introduced AI behavior changes and bug fixes to strengthen the game’s realism. Additionally, the patch also improved overall game performance, refined illumination rendering, and addressed several issues affecting players’ progression.

Escape From Tarkov Makes Changes to Scavs

Hit extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov makes some changes to Scav gameplay based on the results of a recently concluded player survey.

1

Players reported the appearance of a secret map hidden on the Shoreline titled The Labyrinth, hidden behind a recently-added locked door in the basement of the Resort. The map is a tricky one to overcome, joining Escape from Tarkov’s most difficult existing maps, but interested parties can access it by completing the new Shadow of Tagilla task line and obtaining two separate keys. The task line consists of three tasks to complete and then players will need to find the Knossos LLC Facility Key that players have reported finding as loot around the Shoreline. Lastly, the Labrys Keycard must also be found on Tagilla or through the Hot Zone quest from Ragman.

Escape from Tarkov Players Discover Hidden Labyrinth Map

Despite its punishing nature, The Labyrinth map has been a gift for players chasing a challenge, and possibly an even better reward than the gift PvP players received in Escape from Tarkov recently. The Labyrinth is a creepy bunker designed to catch players out through traps, and since these surprises do not appear on maps or guides, the community has been making detailed guides to help. Available for both PvP and PvE players, The Labyrinth holds up to four players, which means you may encounter a fight with others at some point.

Recently, Escape from Tarkov hosted a limited-time boss event that attracted a lot of criticism, mainly because PvE players missed out on the activity for no official reason. To make matters worse, the instance was a recurring issue, and players also wanted to see these random, short events last longer than seven hours. Luckily, the secret Labyrinth map has kept players talking for much longer.
