Eternights is a new JRPG/Visual Novel developed by Studio Sai. The game drew some comparisons to the Persona series due to its dating system, which allows the player to spend time with other characters and eventually enter a relationship with them. Even if the game is very different from Persona in everything else, this common element may attract some players who love Persona's captivating dating system.
While players may be wondering who the best romance option in Eternights is, there are a few things that should be made clear before diving further into this topic. First and foremost, Chani is not an available romance option. The player can enhance the protagonist's bond with his perverted best friend, but the two will always remain just friends. Luckily, players may romance every other main character: Yuna, Min, Siu, and Yohan are all potential love interests for the protagonist. Moreover, it's possible to start a relationship with all of them in the same playthrough, without noticeable consequences. However, given that time is limited in the game, players may still want to know which romance is the best, in order to focus their effort on just one character.
4 Yuna
Yuna's romance is probably the most flashed out in Eternights. That's most likely because Yuna is the first main character the player meets in the game (other than Chani, of course), and she stays with the group for the remainder of the adventure. This gives the couple plenty of time to let their bond grow (as in many other RPG romances), and even if the player chooses to pursue other romances, their relationship is one of the strongest by the end of the game.
Yuna is a famous idol (a trope that is becoming more and more trending in games), but her real personality is much different from her social media persona. While she may seem cold and distant at first, she will prove to be a very down-to-earth girl, who cares about those around her. As for every other character in Eternights, the best way to romance Yuna is to spend time with her and to improve the protagonist's stats in Expression. Since the player meets Yuna very early in the game, this romance is also one of the easiest to achieve.
3 Min
Min is probably the "softest" choice of the bunch. She is very shy, and she cares deeply about the main character, almost entering the "younger little sister" anime trope (something very common even in the best visual novel romances). However, much like every other character in the game, she proves to be much more than just that, and her romance route gives the player the chance to see how her full storyline plays out.
Dating Min will be made much easier by building up the main protagonist's Confidence stats. This will allow the player to unlock more dates with her, which in turn will make it possible to start a relationship with Min later in the game. Even if it's not the most fleshed-out relationship in the game, it's still undeniably cute. In another universe, she would have made the case for being one of the best anime sisters.
2 Sia
Sia is probably the most extroverted character in the group. She's very outgoing, and she just loves to nerd out about science-related stuff. She may come across as a bit strange, but she does have a softer side as well, which can be explored by entering her romance route. This will make a relationship with Sia feel more rewarding for players who love the tsundere trope.
In order to date Sia, players will want to build up their avatar's Acceptance stats. This will give them more opportunities to spend time with Sia and to have dates with her, and it's the only way to get into her romance route by the end of the game. Her romance might not be one of the best in RPGs ever, but it's still very cute.
1 Yohan
Yohan is the only male option for romance in Eternights. Still, the fact that there is an option for gay romance at all is a good sign, considering that Japanese dating sims too often take into consideration straight romances only (luckily there are plenty of other games that offer inclusive romances). Even Chani, the protagonist's perverted best friend, will be very supportive of his relationship if the player chooses to romance Yohan, which sadly is not something to be taken for granted in this genre.
That being said, Yohan is the character with the most charming personality (though he might not make the case for one of the most charming characters ever). Starting out, it may seem like he's too perfect to be true, but during the game, he shows his faults and insecurities as well, and his romance can be one of the most rewarding because of it. In order to date Yohan, players will want to boost their avatar's Courage stats. This will let them have more opportunities to date Yohan, which is the only way to enter his romance route before the end of the game.
