Euro Truck Simulator 2 is an open-world truck simulator game from the house of SCS Software, allowing players to experience building a truck empire from scratch. Although the game portrays itself as a simulator, it has more of a tycoon-type game layer underneath, putting the bucks as the key motivator for experiencing a jolly good drive across the country.
After all, making money is one of the primary objectives of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Players intending on expanding their trucking empire need the cash to make that happen. With a little patience and hard work, making money quickly in ETS 2 will come naturally.
First Truck And Base
Players who are already neck deep into the game can skip over the first tip, and for those who are just beginning, it would be wise not to go for a fancy truck that costs the big bucks. As the game veterans would know, the players don't often travel with their first truck for a long time. It is there to help the business get off its feet and get the ball rolling. Therefore, it would be wise to invest smartly.
Speaking of the right decisions, the next step would be to set up the headquarters at the right spot. At first, the place options provided to set up a base can often be tempting - the inclination to choose Paris or the Alps to work from can seem like a good choice in virtual life, but it is not. As the game progresses, deliveries would be across maps, and choosing a location on either end of the map could cost time and money. Selecting a site that is more accessible to all the points on the map with equal distance evens out the playing area and provides more options while choosing an order.
The Right Jobs And A New Truck
It is safe to pick up jobs with quick turnaround times for the first 4-5 business undertakings. Such quick jobs can be filtered using the "Pay per Distance" option in the order menu. This provides a quick investment return and builds up the bank balance. This is a critical note to consider, as the game opens up the banking services upon completion of the first few deliveries. The bank would be ready to provide a hefty loan with which the player could now buy the truck of their dreams.
Although this adds more overhead like fuel expenses and maintenance costs, it would be worth the investment. The next step would be to pick up freight orders in and around one's chosen base. This helps players get a feel for the map without taking a long, meaningless trip!
Expansion
As the game progresses to level 3 or more, the bank provides a significant sum as a loan (four times more than the initial offering). Using this to buy a Garage, get new additional trucks, and hire drivers would be a great way to move forward.
Using the above methods to pick the right order to send the drivers to duty is advisable. Simply put: Buy -> get right order -> Earn -> Expand -> Repeat.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux.
