Everspace 2 is a fast-paced space shooter in which players travel through numerous star systems in their quest to deliver the main character, Adam Roslin, out of his current region of space. Everspace 2 offers a wide range of weapons, devices, and upgrades that can be applied to an equally wide range of ships. However, the price tag on these things can be incredibly high. Players seeking to try out everything will need to farm a great many credits in order to do so. Here are a few clever ways to farm credits fast.

Random Encounters

As the player flies from point to point in the map, random signals called “Unknown Signals” or “Distress Calls” will appear. These can pay out surprisingly well and usually take very little time to complete. Players trying to line their pockets with more creds will find that completing random encounters pays out fairly well for the time investment.

High-Risk Areas

High-risk areas can be identified on the map by using the various Signal Decoders the player will find throughout the game. Each decoder applies to a specific system, and they come in a variety of rarities. The higher the rarity, the more modifiers will be applied to that area and the higher the Loot Quality buff will be.

These are especially difficult encounters, particularly ones in which enemies explode on death, deal increased damage, or drop mines. Players will need to bring their A game, but if they can complete it they’ll earn some incredible loot for their trouble.

Explore Everything

Almost every signal that Adam Roslin drops into is brimming with containers, floating loot, derelict spaceships, mining nodes, and more. Players looking to optimize their credit-earning potential would do well to loot everything they can find. It takes time, but even the most basic containers can carry a generous stash of credits and parts. The Tractor Beam perk is helpful in speeding this process up.

There are also many rewarding puzzles in Everspace 2. The ones that result in opening a Secure Container can pay out in high-quality parts and stacks of credits. They take some time to sort out, but they’re worth the trouble.

Side Missions

Many of the stations that the player touches down on offer a Job board. These jobs usually require flying to one place and completing a simple task. They don’t take long, and in some cases completing these tasks unlocks higher-tier jobs from the same station. Take some time to complete these side missions and Adam Roslin will also gain Renown which provides its own suite of rewards, including more credits.

Buy Low, Sell High

Everspace 2 features a lightweight trading system that can be quite profitable albeit time-consuming. There are a plethora of Commodities available in the game, and each has a demand level in the various systems. Players should purchase these commodities when they see ones that have low demand, and then sell them off to stations that have a high demand for them.

For example, Solar Panels and Cybernetic Implants can be purchased in the Ceto system for a low price. They can then be offloaded in the Union system for a normal or high price. The Union system also offers Small Arms, Liquor, and Ramen for a low price, which can be turned around in the Ceto system for a high price. Players can make around 10,000 credits per round trip using this route.

Everspace 2 is out now for PC with an Xbox One and PS5 version coming in the summer of 2023.
