White Mask Varre is one of the first characters you meet in Elden Ring, but he's not exactly a friendly face.

White Mask Varre's quest line in Elden Ring is one of the two ways you can get to Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area that's home to Mohg, the Lord of Blood and the entrance to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

2 Ranni the Witch

Ranni the Witch initially presents herself to the player under the name Renna, and offers one of the game's longest and most impactful quest lines. By entering her service, you will help an Empyrean take Godhood for herself, and join her in her thousand-year voyage across the stars – but only after exploring several secret areas, including the Lake of Rot.

3 Roderika

Roderika is a character players will meet just outside of the entrance to Stormveil Castle, before the tunnel that leads to Margit the Fell. Roderika wears a red hood and gifts the player the Spirit Jellyfish summon. After finishing this quest, Roderika will become a Spirit Tuner in the Roundtable Hold.

4 Boc the Seamster

Boc the Seamster is a Demi-human who is friendly to the Tarnished. After finding his relatively hidden location in Limgrave, players are tasked with finding and returning his various sewing implements, and ultimately must make a choice that's difficult to discern the outcome of.

5 Patches

Patches is a recurring character throughout several FromSoftware games, and indeed he returns once again in Elden Ring. Patches is a character you can meet in a cave in Limgrave who will surrender after losing enough HP, and shows up in several locations throughout the game thereafter.

6 Sorceress Sellen & Jerren

Sorceress Sellen's questline begins in Limgrave but continues throughout several later-game areas as players are tasked with finding the location of the Primeval Sorcerers. By the end of this quest, you will have to choose to defeat Witch-Hunter Jerren or take his side and slay Sellen.

8 Kenneth Haight

Kenneth Haight is an aristocrat in Limgrave whose castle, Fort Haight, has been taken over by forces from Stormveil Castle. Find Kenneth Haight, and liberate his Fort, to intersect with Nepheli Loux's quest line later on.

9 Iron Fist Alexander

Iron Fist Alexander is one of the most iconic Elden Ring characters, and can be first encountered on a ledge on the eastern side of the Stormhill subzone of Limgrave. Knock him out of the ground in a few locations, talk to him in a few others, and you will eventually find him for the final time as the only friendly NPC in Farum Azula.

10 Bloody Finger Hunter Yura & Shabriri

Bloody Finger Hunter Yura wears the eye-catching Ronin set, and can be met for the first time next to a campfire in Limgrave. He will warn the player of the dragon Agheel, but later on, he suffers a most dire fate at the hands of Shabriri, a mythical, devious follower of the Three Fingers.
