8 Dragon Age: Origins

The beginning of the franchise offers a very solid 40-hour run, which isn't too long and not too short for an RPG campaign. Players get to explore the world of Thedas and the kingdom of Ferelden and engage in over 20 main quests and over 60 side quests, which relate to a wide array of characters and places.

If one aims to also unlock all 76 achievements in the game, then this may add another 20 to 30 hours of gameplay for a total of 90-hour walkthrough.

7 Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening

Awakening introduces new class specializations and skills, as well as 10 main quests, 12 side quests, and 73 achievements to unlock.

6 Dragon Age 2

In the second game, players move from a kingdom into the city of Kirkwall, which is a slightly smaller map than the first game. That's why the game seems shorter in comparison to the first installment. It also has only 18 main quests and 36 side quests, as well as only 50 achievements.

On top of that, players can expand the gameplay up to six more hours with three DLCs. Altogether, with all the quests, DLCs, and achievements, it's possible to beat the game in about 60 hours.

5 Dragon Age Legends

The game takes place in the city-state Kaiten, where players can complete 12 quests and 20 side quests. As of now, there's only an offline version of the game available.

It'll take quite a while to beat the entire campaign, but note that the gameplay is rather repetitive and may not be equally fun throughout the entire walkthrough.

4 Heroes of Dragon Age

The First Mobile Game Of The Franchise

It was no surprise to see the release of another spin-off in the series a few years after the first two games, but this time for mobile devices. The main story of Heroes of Dragon Age takes an alternative approach to the plot lines of the first two games and offers a total of 17 main quests that are easy to complete.

However, the game was discontinued in 2023, but in the span of ten years, it received numerous updates with side quests that amounted to a much longer playthrough.

3 Dragon Age: The Last Court

A Mysterious Short-Lived Spin-Off

• Platforms: Web browser
• Main Campaign: 6 Hours
• With Side Quests: 10 Hours

Before Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare released a web browser game with a unique story and text-based gameplay. Unfortunately, the game was too short-lived to gain any presence, and it was discontinued in 2020. But there are many online videos showing the gameplay, with its 5 main quests, 10 side quests, and 15 achievements.

Although Dragon Age: The Last Court can still be found online in private archives, it'll probably have a few quests missing, as it was very hard to keep all the game's files intact throughout the years.

2 Dragon Age: Inquisition

The Third Major Game In The Franchise

Dragon Age: Inquisition was a huge step up from the first two installments in terms of gameplay and plot. It introduced the infamous Breach in the Sky that unleashed hordes of monsters onto the world of Thedas. Although the game featured only 12 main quests in the Inquisitor’s Path, the campaign felt much longer due to several semi-open world environments.

The game also features 50 side quests and three DLCs that add up to another 15–20 hours of gameplay. Overall, players will need about 130 hours to fully beat Dragon Age: Inquisition.

1 Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The Fourth Major Game In The Franchise

It took almost 10 years for BioWare to release the next installment in the Dragon Age franchise. Previously marketed as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, it was renamed to Dragon Age: The Veilguard, featuring many new locations. Although the game features a whopping 44 main quests, it'll take players only about 15–20 hours to finish them.

Fortunately, many side quests add another 20 to 30 hours of gameplay. All in all, this is a solid addition to the Dragon Age legacy.
