Fae Farm is an upcoming farm sim RPG with an emphasis on magic and transporting players to an enchanting realm populated with fae folk, magical creatures, and more. One of Fae Farm's delights looks to be its fairy wings, as players will have a variety to choose from in the game's inclusive and diverse character customization system.
Fae Farm's fairy wings also look to play a significant role in how players navigate the realm of Azoria, allowing players to move around the world in ways that some players might not typically expect from traditional farming sim games. The Best War Games recently saw a hands-off demo of Fae Farm with Phoenix Labs Game Director Isaac Epp, which showed off some of the character customiozation, and we also spoke with Epp about some of the game's key features, like its fairy wings and how players explore and traverse the world.
Fae Farm's Character Creator Diversity
Fae Farm's character creator looks inclusive, featuring diverse options for players to create a character according to their preferences, including non-binary-friendly character creation. With pronouns, players can choose options from she/her, he/him, and they/them. Color palettes are also diverse, with many different options for skin color, eyebrow colors, hair, and eye colors. Players can also choose from a selection of voices, and there also looks to be a wealth of other details using the game's cute art style, like facial details such as scars with color customization options. Players can also opt to fully randomize their character and even select a silent voice option.
Often the most impressive RPG character customizers are highly representative. Fae Farm's character creator and customization options similarly look to be a testament to its aim to create a game where everyone can feel safe and comfortable. This feature also seems to reflect the reasons behind creating Fae Farm, where Epp spoke about creating a welcoming space,
We wanted to make a cozy space where people can feel safe, have adventures, and be inclusive to our friends and family. We could hand this game to any of those people, they're going to have a good time, they're going to feel psychologically safe, and they're going to feel welcome.
Fae Farm's Fairy Wings And Character Customization
In addition to customizing specific character details, players can choose their outfits in Fae Farm, featuring options to change headwear, accessories, and their fairy wings once unlocked in the game. There appear to be many different fairy wings to choose from, including a pair of "special wings." As Epp put it,
Oh yeah, there are a bunch of fairy wings. There's a very cool, magical character in the game that you interact with to get those. And yeah, you can get your own special wings so that you can make sure that you look the way you want to look.
Epp also spoke more about the traversal significance of unlocking fairy wings in Fae Farm, as they enable players to "double-jump" as a "big functional boost." Fairy wings could also potentially play a significant role in the sim game's replay value, as Epp added players may find themselves "retreading the world with a double jump, and it's great." With player representation rightly being an important and growing feature of video games, Fae Farm looks set to offer an inclusive and welcoming space alongside its unique take on navigating its farm sim world.
