  • Redditors are showcasing impressive builds of Fallout's main characters with deep customization options in Fallout 4.
  • Bethesda's next-gen update for Fallout 4 brings quality-of-life upgrades but faces player backlash due to reported issues.

Fallout 4 gamers are already recreating some of the characters in Amazon Prime Video's Fallout TV series. The highly acclaimed adaptation of the iconic game franchise has taken the fanbase by storm as a faithful show, with many fans raving about how Fallout gets a lot of things right.

Fallout 4 was initially released in 2015 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but thanks to the franchise's newfound surge in popularity, this particular game (as well as Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 76) has a renewed lease on life nearly 10 years later. Online game shops such as Steam and the PlayStation Store have already discounted the modern titles to accommodate new and returning Fallout fans who have come from watching the series, making the franchise even more accessible than ever.

A number of Redditors on r/fo4 have posted their amazing builds of some of Fallout's main characters, such as pre-mutation Cooper "The Ghoul" Goggins, Brotherhood of Steel squire Thaddeus, and Vault dweller Lucy MacLean. Fallout 4's deep character and appearance customization options allow for some pretty accurate creations, and while the Thaddeus build doesn't fully nail actor Johnny Pemberton's face, all of them come very close.

Fallout 4 Resurgence Reinforced By New Next-Gen Update

Developer Bethesda capitalized on gamers returning to Fallout 4 to play as the TV characters by recently releasing a next-gen update. This patch brought the game some quality-of-life upgrades and changes for those playing on current platforms. However, it hasn't been all smooth sailing, as many players have reported numerous issues caused by the new Fallout 4 update, especially for those playing with extensive modding. This has caused fans to hold off on making the jump on the new patch, which is the exact opposite of what the studio wanted.

Despite the concerning issues, the new update did resonate well among fans who were able to enjoy the upgrades. For example, the next-gen patch drastically reduced the loading times in Fallout 4, which is a huge deal considering Bethesda games are a bit notorious for these. Whether Bethesda finds a way to fix some of the problems it can address or the player base ultimately ends up being the ones adjusting, there's no doubt that the patch will eventually be well-received in the long run for being the upgrade the game needed.
