Bethesda outlines the next major updates coming for Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, but players will have to wait a bit longer than they probably expected. After originally launching 10 years ago, Fallout 4 has seen plenty of updates, mods, and ports over the years, though this Anniversary Edition seems to have largely left the community feeling more frustrated than anything else.

In celebration of its tenth anniversary, Bethesda announced Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition as a sort of celebration of the game. The Fallout Day reveal confirmed the special edition would package all DLC and over 150 creation club items alongside the base game, but the announcement hasn't sat well with most fans. Worry quickly spread through the community that mods would entirely break when this version launched and sure enough, that has indeed come to pass alongside a slew of other issues.

So far, the launch of hasn't been great, with fans quickly taking to review bomb Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition on places like Steam. Outside the issues with mods, players have run into other major problems, including one bug that causes some players to lose access to some of the content included in the game. Bethesda provided an update on the numerous issues, confirming that the studio is actively investigating these issues, while also confirming an improved load time for the menus in the game.

The post also laid out a roadmap of updates, starting with a planned hotfix launching early "next week" to address the PS4/Xbox One stability issues, a bug preventing creations that rely on DLC to not work, as well as another issue causing some DLC content to uninstall after the game is updated on PlayStation.

From there, Bethesda is planning 2 bigger updates, though the studio doesn't give any clues or hints as to what will be addressed. Worse yet, the first major update is planned to launch on November 24, while the second won't be coming until the "first half of December." While Bethesda is fixing the Fallout 4 DLC ownership bug pretty quickly, the rest of its update plan unfortunately means players will just have to live with the current state of the game for a lot longer than they likely anticipated.

With how broken some of the core features of Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition are at the moment, combined with the fact that many updates won't be available for a couple of weeks to a month, it'll be interesting to see how patient the playerbase will be. The game has already experienced a review bombing and the longer these issues drag on, things could potentially get even messier down the road.
