Summary
- Tesla Rifle: Great for crowd control but short range, perfect for multiple enemies.
- Gatling Laser: Uses Fusion Cores, high rate of fire, low accuracy but deadly.
- Plasma Gun: High-tech weapon causes burns, excellent for tough enemies.
Fallout 4 is one of the greatest RPGs in the last decade that's focused around a nuclear holocaust and mutant creatures. Not only is the game's aesthetic very unique, combining a retro 1950s look with advanced technology, but it also has very fun missions, likable and romanceable NPCs, and a wide variety of enemies and weapons that add depth to it.
Fallout 4: Best Merchants In The Game
When looking to offload materials or buy new items, these individuals are some of the best merchants that players will find.
With all this variety, players have a lot of options to choose from regarding which weapons they want to use against their enemies, and which weapons they want to equip their companions with. To illustrate some of them, here are some of the best weapons for robots.
7 Tesla Rifle
An Amazing Weapon To Deal With Multiple Enemies At Close-range
- Great for crowd control
- Short range
The Tesla Rifle comes with the unique legendary Lightning effect, which fires a special electrical discharge that arcs between enemies. This weapon uses fusion cells as ammo, and can damage multiple targets at once, making it an amazing option for crowd control. Unfortunately, its range is rather limited and that's one of its disadvantages, but in the grand scheme of things, it remains a solid choice for robots.
A great scenario where this weapon comes in handy is when there are tons of feral ghouls attacking the Sole Survivor viciously, as the Tesla Rifle can help deal with them very effectively. Whether players find themselves exploring the wilderness or visiting one of the major cities in the game, the Tesla Rifle will always come in handy..
6 Gatling Laser
A Deadly Weapon That Relies On Fusion Cores
- This weapon uses Fusion Cores for ammo
- High rate of fire, but low accuracy
Consisting of four rotating AER9 rifle barrels, the Gatling Laser fires red laser pulses through two lenses. One of the main disadvantages of this weapon is that it uses Fusion Cores for ammo, which can be a little inconvenient, especially in the early stages of the game. That said, every full Fusion Core provides roughly 500 shots, so players will get to use this rifle several times before they run out of ammo.
Fallout 4: 10 Worst Settlements
Fallout 4 introduced player settlements to the series, bringing new ways to interact with the world. But some locations are a mistake.
This weapon has a high rate of fire, but it also has low accuracy. However, when combined with the right starting Perks, the Gatling Laser can be very deadly both in the hands of the Sole Survivor and for robots.
5 Plasma Gun
An Advanced Piece Of Technology That Players Can Take Advantage Of
- High-tech weapon
- It can cause serious burns and even liquify enemies
The Plasma Gun is one of the many variants of Plasma weapons featured in the game. Other versions include the plasma pistol, plasma rifle, plasma scattergun, and the plasma thrower. As a high-tech weapon, the Plasma Gun fires superheated bolts of plasma that are either powered by microfusion cells, plasma cartridges, heave energy cells, or plasma cores. This weapon can be turbocharged by hotwiring the plasma bolt chamber, making it an excellent choice for robots.
The Plasma Gun can cause serious burns on its targets and even molecular destabilization, turning enemies into green goo. This is a great option to have when dealing with some of the toughest enemies in Fallout 4.
4 Laser Rifle
A High-damage Weapon With Decent Range
- An important part of the Great War
- High damage, low rate of fire
Similar to the Plasma Gun, the Laser Rifle has many variants, including the laser pistol and the laser gun. This weapon draws power from microfusion cells that are then processed through a particle diverter. While this weapon played a key role in the Great War, it wasn't the standard issue rifle, despite its many advantages.
Players who are familiar with the modified institute lasers will be surprised to learn that regular laser rifles do more damage, but have a slower rate of fire, which makes them ideal for robots and dealing with enemies from a vantage point. If players are fans of the Laser Rifle and other laser weapons, they might want to try some great Star Wars mods that are available for the game.
3 Cryolator
An Icy And Effective Way To Deal With Enemies
- Great for crowd control and freezing enemies
- The Cryolator can be modded to shoot crystals
Developed by the Overseer from Vault 111, the Cryolator is an amazing weapon that gives players the chance to freeze their enemies solid in place, which can be ideal when there's lots of them and some crowd control is needed. One of the main disadvantages of this weapon, however, is that its range isn't great, making it impossible to hit targets that are not within proximity.
Another thing the Cryolator has against it is that it can quickly use up large amounts of ammo, which can be very inconvenient, especially when ammo is scarce. That said, it's possible to install a crystallizing barrel mod to this weapon, which increases its range and damage output, but at the cost of slower projectiles with a weird flight trajectory.
2 Assaultron Blade
A Heavy Blade That Deals Great Damage
- Higher damage output at the cost of speed
- Made from components of an Assaultron
While not the best in the entire game, the Assaultron Blade is arguably one of the best melee weapons in Fallout 4's add-on, Automatron. This weapon has a similar size to a machete and appears to be made, at least in part, out of components of an Assaultron's lower arm.
Fallout 4: Best Armor Sets, Ranked
Fallout 4 contains many useful armor sets that players should definitely try to find, but these are arguably the best.
As opposed to lighter bladed weapons, the Assaultron Blade deals more damage at the cost of speed, which can be good or bad depending on the situation players find themselves in. The Assaultron Blade can be dropped by Rust Devils and can also be found in a steamer trunk i the Fort Hagen hangar during the quest "Headhunting".
1 Missile Launcher
The Ultimate Weapon Of Mass Destruction
- One of the heaviest weapons in the game
- Stacks well with Perks like Demolition Expert and Heavy Gunner
The Missile Launcher is one of the most powerful weapons in the Fallout universe. While arguably not as powerful as the Fat Man, it's still a great weapon of mass destruction that can deal with large groups of smaller enemies and vaporize even the greatest armor sets. The Missile Launcher can be made even more devastating through the maximization of Perks like Heavy Gunner and Demolition Expert.
It's also possible to pair this weapon with the targeting computer modification, which allows players to shoot projectiles that lock onto targets and chase them. One of the main disadvantages of this weapon, however, is that, when fully modified, it can weigh up to 45 pounds, making it one of the heaviest weapons in the game.
