A Fallout 4 player created a post-apocalyptic wasteland version of the iconic seat of power from the HBO TV show Game of Thrones. Five years after the climactic finale of the hit dark fantasy series, Game of Thrones remains one of the most influential adaptations of modern entertainment, with a sizable fanbase who still fondly remember it despite its controversial ending. One such fan even brought a little bit of the franchise into Fallout 4 by building a post-apocalyptic version of the Iron Throne, and the sight of it is as terrifying as it is awe-inspiring.

For context, the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones is the seat of power for the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Aegon the Conqueror, who united most of the kingdoms on the Westeros continent under his banner, forged the Iron Throne from the swords of his conquered enemies. Subsequent rulers used it as a powerful symbol of their dominion over the realm, and it's easy to see why. The throne by itself is an intimidating sight, considering that it is a massive pile of swords charred black and melted together by dragon fire. But even without knowing the story behind its creation, a look at the Iron Throne would be a highlight for any viewer.

Fans will be happy to know that the Iron Throne would look no less intimidating if brought over to Fallout's post-apocalyptic wasteland, as one player has shown. Reddit user Dry-Journalist-8295 uploaded several images to the r/fo4 subreddit, which showcased their take on a Fallout-style Iron Throne. In the absence of the swords of his defeated foes, the user notably opted to use multiple jagged iron spikes and barbed wire to capture the same feel of the original. Combined with the elevated platform and the rows of impaled bodies, it certainly makes for an intimidating sight.

Fallout Fan is Building a New and Improved Iron Throne

Other fans were quick to praise the build, with several commenters imagining what raiders would think if they came across the horrifying structure. Some additionally made suggestions to improve the design, prompting Dry-Journalist-8295 to reveal they were also working on an improved version of the Fallout Iron Throne. The user stated they were planning to build the next iteration on another settlement on Spectacle Island, and it will reportedly be bigger, better, and with far more spikes.

Though Fallout 4 has its flaws, the game can at least be commended for providing the foundation of an engaging creativity tool with its settlement-building mechanics. Since the game's release, players have shared hundreds of unique and eye-catching designs, from homey post-apocalyptic trailer parks in Fallout 4 to full-on junk towns complete with shops and NPCs.
