How to Save Kent in Fallout 4

Kent Connolly being held hostage by Sinjin during The Silver Shroud side quest in Fallout 4.

Based on how you built your character, there are two best ways to Save Kent in Fallout 4 during the Silver Shroud quest.

The first way is by choosing the option to Speak as the Shroud all three times, which will cause Sinjin's followers, including Avery, to run to the various corners of the room. Doing so will cause them not to attack you when you fight Sinjin. However, Sinjin will immediately attack Kent, so you must kill him before he does. Since you won't have to worry about his followers, you can focus all your efforts on Sinjin, making it easy to kill him quickly using the method below.

The second way is to pass the Charisma check to make Sinjin and his followers target you instead of Kent. Doing so will be more difficult due to needing to pass the tough Charisma check, so we recommend saving right before since you could fail. In addition, you'll also have to deal with Avery and the other followers while fighting Sinjin, making it a tough battle. Still, Kent has a better survival rate than the first method above, since everyone will focus on killing you instead.

How to Kill Sinjin Before He Kills Kent in Fallout 4

Defeating Sinjin before he kills Kent during The Silver Shroud side quest in Fallout 4.

To ensure Sinjin doesn't harm Kent, your best bet is to eliminate him swiftly. The most effective method is to use a banked Critical using a weapon with a calibrated powerful receiver weapon mod to snipe Sinjin in the head when using VATS. Enhance this strategy by using chems like Jet to boost your effectiveness. With this approach, you should be able to take down Sinjin in one shot or with a few quick follow-up shots. Remember, you don't need the Critical Banker perk for this well-timed Critical is all it takes to get the job done.

Your reward for saving Kent during The Silver Shroud side quest in Fallout 4 is the ability to upgrade the Silver Shroud, which, after the level 45 upgrade, becomes the third-best armor in the game for pure Damage Resistance. The Silver Shroud armor set is a costume worn by the Silver Shroud, a popular comic book character. It provides a 15% damage reduction when fighting ghouls and human NPCs. In addition, the hat offers +1 Perception, and the Coat provides +1 Agility. However, if you complete this quest when you are above level 45, you won't be able to upgrade it until after you reach level 100, so keep this in mind. If this happens to you, you can use a console command to raise the armor level to 45.
