Building a CAMP is a crucial part of Fallout 76. The base-building part of the game is something that most players love. Being able to create cool and unique homes to show off to other players is something that most fans of Fallout 76 enjoy doing. That said, when the player first emerges from Vault 76, it can be a little overwhelming to decide where to set up CAMP for the first time.

Fallout 76: 7 Best CAMP Locations in The Skyline Valley Region

If Fallout 76 players are looking for a good spot to set up their CAMP in Skyline Valley, these areas are highly recommended.

There are hundreds of different locations that players can claim throughout Appalachia. While there are lots of great areas for players to build, low-level players should consider building their first homes in relatively safe locations.

1 Around Vault 76

A Familiar Surrounding

Outside Vault 76
  • Specific Location: Just east of Vault 76, there's a clearing

The area around Vault 76 is relatively enemy-free. And any enemies that tend to roam around this area are typically pretty easy to kill. Also, despite being in the forest region, there are several relatively flat points around the vault. This is great for those wanting to build a base in an area that is void of any cumbersome trees.

Since Vault 76 is a free fast travel point, more players are likely to visit a CAMP close by as it's not going to cost them anything for the journey. This makes the area around Vault 76 great for making some extra caps, as it will draw in plenty of visitors. Just be sure to place any CAMP vendors in easy-to-see places.

2 Near The Wayward

A Frequent Travel Point For Many Players

The Wayward in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: Head north along the road, on the same side of the road as The Wayward, there's a rock overhanging the river

The Wayward is a key location that players will need to visit many times throughout one of the core storylines. It's also pretty void of enemies, which makes it the perfect area for low-level players to set up shop.

There's a river that runs along the roadside, so any player who builds here will have their own source of water. Also, if the player places their CAMP along the road, then they will have a fairly large flat area where they can build.

3 Under New River Gorge Bridge

A Picturesque Area

A View From A High Bridge in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: Follow the direction of the bridge from below. Around halfway between the north and south sections, there's a large dry riverbed

New River Gorge Bridge towers over the forest below, making it a stunning place to build. Since the area that stretches below the bridge is all part of the forest region, any enemies that do spawn will normally be pretty easy to take care of.

What makes this area particularly great is that there are terrain options for players. There are cliffs, open areas, and a dry riverbed that runs under the center of the bridge. The different types of terrain give players more creative freedom regarding what type of CAMP they want to create.

4 Near Anchor Farm

A Calm Area With Non-Hostile Locals

Anchor Farm in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: Slightly east of Anchor Farm, there's a clearing with trees around it

North of Vault 76 lies a small, secluded farm. Anchor Farm is home to a handful of settlers. While they aren't exactly the most welcoming people in the area, they aren't hostile, so if the player sets up a CAMP nearby, there's a chance that the folks living on Anchor Farm may lend a hand if any enemies stray too close.

Here's what the best spots for a camp are in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout 76, and what their pros and cons are.

The area around the farm is covered with trees. That said, there are a couple of clearings that will provide the player with some flat, buildable land. This place is great for low-level players who want to build a forest retreat that blends into the surroundings.

5 The Whitespring Golf Club

A Slice Of Pre-War Paradise

Whitespring Golf Course in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: Toward the southern part of the course, just next to the bridge

The Whitespring Golf Club is relatively undamaged. This is because of the work of the robots who patrol the grounds and maintain the area. There are lots of Ghouls that roam around the area. However, the robots are usually available to lend a helping hand. Just be sure not to accidentally shoot one of the robots as they won't hesitate to turn on the player.

If the player is worried about random Ghoul attacks, then they should opt to build toward the southern end of the course, as fewer Ghouls tend to make their way to that side.

6 Next To Sutton Station

A Great Central Location

Sutton Station in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: Directly in front of the station. Players can place their CAMP close to the station entrance

Sutton is a key location. It is the home of the Overseer of Vault 76. Players who are following the main storyline will need to pay her multiple visits. Just south of her home is Sutton Station. This is one of the many train stations that players can visit to buy and sell items to robot vendors.

What makes this area a great place to build is the flat, clear land that sits right in front of the station. Also, it's very rare to see enemies close to Sutton Station, so it's a good place to build for those who enjoy peace and quiet.

7 Near Whitespring Station

The Trader's Hub

Whitespring Station in Fallout 76
  • Specific Location: North of Whitespring Station, there's a clearing to the right of the train track

Players will notice that, more often than not, there will be a couple of CAMPs set up along the train tracks outside the Whitespring Station. This is because this area is a popular spot for those conducting trades.

Many players who trade items through online forums tend to use the Whitespring Station as a meeting point. This makes the area ideal for making extra sales as high-level players will often be in the area.
