Ammo is vital in Fallout 76. Almost every player in the game relies on some sort of ammo to take down enemies. Ammo can sometimes be tricky to come by, especially for those who don't have a Fallout 1st subscription, as they are limited when it comes to how much can be stored in a stashbox.

Fallout 76: How To Craft Ammo

Ammo is always going to be tight in Fallout 76. Making your own can make that problem less of a hassle.

New players, in particular, may struggle to find ammo, especially early on. However, there are a few sure-fire methods of farming ammo that are great for players of all levels. From passive ammo generation to missions that give players lots of extra ammo, there are a few things that players can do to ensure that they never run out of ammo again.

How To Get Ammo In Fallout 76

There Are Lots of Ways To Obtain Ammo

Armco Ammo Machine and Ammo Storage Box in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 gives players lots of different ways to find, earn, and craft ammo. For the most part, players will use a combination of all methods to keep stocked up on ammo. Here's a list of every possible way that you can obtain ammo in Fallout 76:

  • Crafting ammo at a Tinker's Workbench
  • Buying ammo from other players
  • Buying ammo from robot vendors
  • Buying Ammo From Ammo Machines
  • Finding ammo while looting
  • Looting ammo from corpses
  • Being awarded ammo for completing missions, quests, and events
  • Using an ammo converter machine (swaps ammo from one type to another)
  • Completing Expeditions
  • Completing Daily Ops

There is one other way that you can get ammo that wasn't listed above: using the Armco Ammunition Construction Appliance. This is a CAMP item that will passively generate ammo at your base. It's important to note that you can only obtain the plan to craft this item after reaching the max reputation rank with the raiders. Then, you can buy the plan to build this from Mortimer in the Crater for 750 Gold Bullion.

Daily Ops Rewards in Fallout 76

It's important to note that completing Expeditions is a close second, but Daily Ops are the best way to farm ammo in Fallout 76. Like with most kills, each downed enemy will have some ammo on them. The ammo type will match your weapon, with the exception of things like Plasma Cores. Because Daily Ops spawn in loads of enemies, they're a fantastic way of getting lots of ammo fast.

While you will also get some ammo for completing a Daily Operation, it can often be better not to complete the mission. Instead, start the Daily Op and simply go around killing endless waves of enemies. Just note that this only works for Uplink Daily Operations. Also, if you choose to do this, don't start a team, as other players may join who may actually want to complete the Daily Op. Just head into one alone.

With a good build and some patience, it's possible to pick up thousands of bullets per hour while grinding Daily Ops.
