After a short delay, Fallout 76 has received its full update. This update includes player caravans, a new quest, and some awesome new rewards. As players dive into the game and learn all there is to know about caravans, they will make their way through the game's newest quest; A Bump In The Road.
While the quest itself isn't particularly long, it does allow players to run their own caravan at the end. This new feature is something that many players have wanted for quite some time. This guide will go through the steps required to complete A Bump In The Road and why it's worth doing.
A Bump In The Road Walkthrough
This quest gives players the ability to run their very own caravan. It's a fun new addition to the game that brings in some much-needed repeatable content for players to get stuck into. To complete A Bump In The Road, follow the steps below. This quest can be finished in under 10 minutes:
- Head to Stony Man Lookout (located west of Research Site Bavaria and north of Camp Liberty).
- At the base of the lookout tower, there are some cages. Inside one of the cages is a deceased Blue Ridge Caravan Merchant. Take the Holotape off his corpse.
- Take the Blue Ridge Cargo off the Pack Brahmin's corpse marked on the map.
- Go to Milepost Zero (located south of Big Meadows Gas Well).
- Once inside, speak to Marley.
- Pay her 500 Caps to cover some of the basic costs.
- After talking to her, you'll need to head to the caravan event location marked on your map.
- Defend the Brahmin as it makes its way along the road.
- You can interact with the Brahmin to hurry it along the path.
- Deposit the cargo in the drop box and then head back to Marley.
After you have spoken to Marley, the quest will be completed and you'll receive your rewards. While the rewards aren't anything too special, you'll be able to run caravans by speaking to Marley. Doing so will award you with supplies. Supplies are a new form of in-game currency that can be used to purchase items and upgrade your caravan.
Spending Supplies
To spend your hard-earned supplies, speak to Marley. She'll guide you through the things you can get with supplies. You can use the supplies to hire some help, upgrade Milestone Zero, and upgrade the hired help. Doing these things isn't cheap. So, you'll need to head out on plenty of caravan runs in order to save up enough supplies to start purchasing things from Marley. As for the hired help, the possible characters that you can hire are:
- Theodore: The Ammo Merchant (150 Supplies)
- Josie: Brahmin Tamer (100 Supplies)
- Axel: Decorator (125 Supplies)
- Ineke: Imported Goods Merchant (150 Supplies)
Upgrading the characters mentioned above will cost additional supplies. You get 10 supplies for each event you complete. However, you'll receive 100 supplies the first time you complete a caravan event for Marley. Also, you can get some extra supplies by helping other players complete caravan missions. You won't earn a lot for doing this, but it is better than nothing.
