Fallout 76 has announced that a major CAMP update will be available to all players on September 2. Fallout 76 was released in 2018, and Bethesda has been supporting the game with updates over the years. The devs have been introducing new features, content, and quality-of-life improvements, aiming to keep the experience interesting for the Fallout 76 community.
CAMP is one of Fallout 76's features through which players express their creativity by building various types of bases. The game grants access to CAMP as soon as the player leaves Vault 76, allowing them to build bases throughout the post-bombing world. To have even more options for structures to build, Fallout 76 players have several options, such as purchasing from vendors, receiving them by completing event quests, or being lucky enough to find them in the environment. CAMP is a part of Fallout 76 that brings the community together by sharing impressive projects, and it will soon undergo significant changes.

Future Fallout 76 Update Will Revamp the CAMP Experience
Fallout 76 has revealed that a major update revamping CAMP will be released on Tuesday, September 2. The announcement came via a new Developer Preview, with Creative Director Jon Rush showing that one of the main changes to creating a CAMP in Fallout 76 after the update will be the revised workshop menu with improved navigation, allowing players to find items more easily and build faster. Items have been divided into categories, such as Lights, Decoration, and Storage, and subcategories such as Candles and Lamps.
Another highlight of the upcoming Fallout 76 update is that the game will get rid of construction restrictions related to item placement. Currently, there are limitations on building certain items in Fallout 76 floating CAMPs. As a result, it gets more difficult for players to set up their bases high in the sky. After the update, players will be able to toggle, snap, intersect, and place items anywhere, increasing their freedom. Overall, the update is considered a way to facilitate CAMP construction and give Fallout 76 players more tools to do so.
Simultaneously with the major revamp, Fallout 76 will kick off a monthly series of CAMP creation competitions in late 2025. Details about the competitions were not shared in the video, but it says that “huge prizes” will be up for grabs. With this, Bethesda is shaking up a popular feature of the game, making the CAMP creation in Fallout 76 more entertaining by removing previous limitations and introducing new features.
