There are lots of public events in Fallout 76. Normally, players can expect to see a total of three public events per hour on any given server. While some events are more beneficial than others, there are a few underrated Fallout 76 events that are worth doing.

Fallout 76: 8 Events That Give The Best Rewards

Players will come across a lot of goodies throughout Fallout 76's many events. These examples offer some of the best rewards.

One of the events that players often choose to skip out on is Campfire Tales. While this event may seem a little tedious on the surface, it actually has the potential to be a pretty rewarding event. It is one of those events that is great for both low-level and veteran players alike. This guide will go through all there is to know about Campfire Tales.

Campfire Tales Event Overview

Campfire Tales Event Location

The event is broken down into 5 main sections:

  • Destroy the shadows
  • Eat, drink, and emote around the campfire
  • Gather firewood to fuel the fire
  • Find the missing camper's items
  • Keep the fire lit while taking on some enemies

The shadows are just stationary firing range targets that can be destroyed using melee attacks, bullets, or explosives. This is the easiest task in the whole event. While a few insects will spawn, they are easy to deal with.

The second stage is also very easy. You'll need to emote or consume food and drink around the campfire. While you can emote, eating and drinking is normally the quicker way to fill up the progress bar. Just like the first stage, a few insects will spawn, but they aren't that difficult to handle.

To complete stage 3, you'll need to gather firewood from three highlighted spots. When you approach one of the three areas, a few more insects will spawn. Just head to each location and pick up any dry kindling that's on the ground. If there are several people at this event, then it really doesn't take long to gather kindling.

The kindling you gather can be used to keep the fire going during the final stage of this event. This can be very important. If the fire goes out during the final stage of the event, then the event will fail and you won't receive any rewards.

The next stage requires players to gather a few missing items left behind by a missing camper. While the items will vary, they tend to be located in the same areas. The items aren't marked on your map. However, if you come close to one of the missing items, then a marker will pop up showing you the item's location.

The final stage of this event is the trickiest. That said, it's still pretty easy. You will need to keep the fire lit while dealing with one of the following situations:

  • Kill Camp Counselor Nia
  • Fend off 3 waves of insects, finishing with a 1-star legendary Radscorpion
  • Kill a Flatwoods Monster

Out of the three challenges, the Flatwoods Monster is the most difficult one. This is because the Flatwoods Monster can't be hurt until all of its clones have been dispatched. Once you've taken down the clones, the Flatwoods Monster will be vulnerable for a few seconds. If you aren't able to kill it within those seconds, then more clones will spawn, and you'll need to repeat the cycle until the Flatwoods Monster has been defeated.

Invaders From Beyond Changes To Campfire Tales

Alien Invader

There are lots of seasonal events in Fallout 76. One event that comes up a couple of times each year is called Invaders From Beyond. At the top of each hour, players will be tasked with defeating lots of Alien invaders in the limited-timed event.

While the Invaders From Beyond event isn't directly connected to Campfire Tales, it does change things slightly. Should Campfire Tales pop up while Invaders From Beyond is live in the game, then instead of the regular enemies that spawn during the event, players will need to take on Alien Invaders. This makes the event slightly more challenging, especially for low-level players.

Campfire Tales Event Rewards In Fallout 76

Pioneer Scout Vending Machine

At first glance, the rewards for completing this event seem fairly lackluster. Players will receive some Caps, XP, 2 Treasury Notes, and a random array of things like Chems and Meds. You may also receive a plan to craft the Campfire Tales Tent or the plan to make S'mores.

However, players have a small chance to receive a Possum Badge for completing the event. Possum Badges can be saved up and used to buy plans and apparel from Possum Vending Machines. The items and prices can be seen below:

  • Pioneer Scout Hat: Possum: 3 Badges
  • Pioneer Scout Possum Shorts: 2 Badges
  • Pioneer Scout Possum Skirt: 2 Badges
  • Plan: Backpack Armor Plated Mod: 5 Badges
  • Plan: Backpack High Capacity Mod: 8 Badges
  • Plan: Backpack Insulated Mod: 5 Badges
  • Plan: Backpack Lead Lined Mod: 5 Badges
  • Plan: Backpack Refrigerated Mod: 8 Badges
  • Plan: Pioneer Scout Banner: Possum: 1 Badge
  • Plan: Pioneer Scout Possum Backpack: 3 Badges
  • Plan: Pioneer Scour Stash Box: 5 Badges
  • Plan: ProSnap Deluxe Night-Vision Lense: 5 Badges

Out of the items listed above, the backpack plans are the best ones to get. Depending on the player's build, there's a backpack mod to suit almost everyone's needs. The effects of each backpack mod can be seen below:

  • Armor Plated Mod: Up to +90 damage resistance
  • High Capacity Mod: Up to +60 to carry weight
  • Insulated Mod: Up to +90 energy resistance
  • Lead Lined Mod: Up to +90 radiation resistance
  • Refrigerated Mod: Food spoils 50% slower

Players should think about which mod will best suit their build/playstyle before purchasing one. Possum Badges aren't easy to come by, so it's important to spend them wisely.

Also, since Campfire Tales is a Forest event, players have a tiny chance of being awarded a piece of rare apparel tied to this region. While there's a less than a 1% chance for this to happen, it is possible to be awarded one of the following items:

  • Responders Fireman Outfit
  • Responders Fireman Helmet
  • Forest Camo Jumpsuit

While the chances of being awarded one of the items listed above are very slim, if you are lucky enough to get one, then you can trade it with another player for some top-tier weapons or armor pieces.
