Throwing grenades might seem like a simple process in Fallout 76. However, there are a lot of issues that can show up, with many players experiencing challenges with timing and choosing the right button to deploy a grenade. You'll also need to find grenades if you want to add them to your stash of weapons.
If you can't seem to consistently figure out how to use your grenades, this guide will show you what you need to do to fix any issues you might have. Here's how you can utilize grenades to your advantage and take down hordes of enemies.
How to Throw Grenades in Fallout 76
If you're wondering how you can throw grenades in Fallout 76, but can't seem to find the correct button, you're not the only one. Many would assume that throwing a grenade would either have its own button, or would be the melee button. However, tapping the melee button will just cause your character to whack the enemy with their weapon.
In order to throw a grenade instead of using a melee attack, hold down the melee button. Depending on what platform you are on, these will be the corresponding buttons/keys:
- PC: Hold down left ALT
- PlayStation: Hold down R1
- Xbox: Hold down RB
And that's all there is to it. However, you'll need to make sure that you have grenades to begin with to be able to throw them. You can check your Pip-Boy, and go under Weapons to see if you have any grenades. Then, you can open up your quick selection wheel and place any of the grenades you have in your inventory into one of the slots.
