  • Fallout 76 player recreated Nate from Fallout 4, drawing praise from fans.
  • Recommendations for improvements include chin, jaw, eyes, cheeks, and nose.
  • Nate and Nora will likely remain the faces of the franchise for a long time.

A Fallout 76 player has recreated the male playable protagonist from Fallout 4 in the game. The impressive recreation has drawn attention from a lot of fans of the series, with Fallout 76 players offering some advice on how the character can look even better.

Fallout has offered many character customization options over the course of the series, with Fallout 4 impressing players when Bethesda demonstrated its in-depth character creator. However, despite the then-robust character creator, Nate and Nora, the standard male and female Sole Survivors, are the most recognizable. With their characters serving as the default faces of the title, this player had to work a little harder to get the right look.

Reddit uesr R3alR1cha4dN1xon shared the recreation they made of Nate, Fallout 4's Sole Survivor, inside the Fallout 76 multiplayer title. The player shared two screenshots in-game, as well as one from Fallout 4 to compare with. R3alR1cha4dN1xon asked fellow fans how they had done with their recreation. The similarities are very apparent, and if looked at from afar, it would be easy to mistake Fallout 76 Nate from Fallout 4's original version of him. However, players have suggested that there's additional room for improvement.

Fallout 76 Players Share Thoughts on Sole Survivor Copy

Fellow fans have offered plenty of praise for the recreation, with many making jokes about how he looks like the real "John Fallout." Others have mused about how the existence of Nate in Fallout 76 messes with the timeline, with some suggesting that he could have popped out of his vault pod, had some adventures, and returned with plenty of time to return to stasis until the events of Fallout 4's post-war period take place.

Others have shared advice on making the player character look more like Nate. Several have suggested giving him a slightly more prominent chin and jaw, and others have pointed out that his eyes look to be a little too far apart. Other recommendations included making his cheeks less round and lowering the nose. R3alR1cha4dN1xon has responded to the post, noting that they were taking the recommendations into consideration and will be revising his appearance at some point.

As the first speaking protagonist of the Fallout series, Nate and Nora will likely remain the face of the franchise for a long time yet. Of course, the release of the Fallout TV series has likely made Lucy the most recognizable vault dweller for some new fans. It remains to be seen if Fallout 5 will feature default faces or if the series will return to not having any one specific face as "the" protagonist.
