Fallout 76 has lots of limited-time events that happen throughout the year. From Fasnacht Day to Invaders From Beyond, there are lots of seasonal events for players to enjoy. Seasonal events are great for obtaining unique CAMP plans, Scrip, and much more.
One of the easiest limited-time events that players can take part in is the Holiday Scorched event. This event typically runs for two weeks. It sees players searching all over Appalachia for Holiday Scorched which can be killed for a festive package. These packages contain everything from junk items to apparel and rare plans. This guide will go through all there is to know about Holiday Scorched.
Fallout 76: How To Farm Unlimited Items
If you're trying to stock up on items and components in Fallout 76, this is a great way to do it.
What Are Holiday Scorched in Fallout 76?
Holiday Scorched are similar to regular Scorched enemies, though there are a couple of key differences that make them very easy to identify. First, they emit a jingle sound when they are nearby. The louder the sound, the closer the Holiday Scorched. Also, keeping with Bethesda's brand of humor, Holiday Scorched are dressed up in festive outfits, which makes them very easy to spot.
Every Holiday Scorched is a legendary enemy, so this event is perfect for farming Scrip. Every Holiday Scorched you come across has a 55% chance of being a 1-star legendary enemy, a 40% chance of being a 2-star legendary enemy, and a 5% chance of being a 3-star legendary enemy.
When killed, a Holiday Scorched will drop a gift. There are three types of gifts that players can get from Holiday Scorched. The three packages vary in quality; small Holiday Gifts, regular Holiday Gifts, and large Holiday Gifts. The bigger the gift, the better the chances of the player receiving a rare reward.
The Best Places To Find Holiday Scorched in Fallout 76
Holiday Scorched can be found in any area that is usually occupied by Scorched. If a place naturally spawns Scorched enemies, then there's a chance to find Holiday Scorched. You may also find the occasional stray Holiday Scorched roaming around.
There are a few places that typically spawn at least a couple of Holiday Scorched. Those places can be seen below:
- Morgantown Airport (Exterior Only)
- Tyler County Fairgrounds
- Wavy Willard's Water Park
- Bolton Greens
- Helvetia
- Sutton
- Camden Park
- Summersville Docks
There are some useful sites like FalloutBuilds that have great farming routes that players may find useful. If you are struggling to find Holiday Scorched on any particular server, then it may be beneficial to hop to another server. Lots of players will be hunting Holiday Scorched, so unless you have a F allout 1st subscription, you may find that some other players have already cleared out some of the best locations for farming Holiday Scorched.
The Best Events For Farming Holiday Scorched
There are a few events that are great for farming Holiday Scorched. Players should keep an eye out for Scorched Horde events and Line in The Sand. These events can't be triggered by the player. Scorched Horde events will pop up randomly and Line in The Sand is a public event that has the chance of starting every 20 minutes.
Completing Scorched Hordes isn't the best way of farming Holiday Scorched, but it may net players a couple of gifts. As for Line in The Sand, this event is great for getting lots of Holiday Gifts. To complete this event, players will need to fend off several waves of Scorched. Since a lot of Scorched will spawn during this event, players can expect to get at least a few Holiday Gifts during the event.
There is another event that is good for farming Holiday Scorched; Collision Course. What makes this event special is the fact that players can trigger the event themselves. To trigger the event, head to the far side of Morgantown Airport. If the event is available, then it will prompt you to set off a flair to start the event.
If the event doesn't start automatically, it's because another player has activated it recently. This event has a 30-minute cooldown period on any given server. If someone has already completed the event, then hop to a new server and try again. If the player has a Fallout 1st subscription, then they can load up a private server, complete the event, refresh the server, and farm the event endlessly.
Passively Earn Holiday Gifts
There are lots of CAMP collectors in Fallout 76. Most will gather junk items and other miscellaneous items, but some will collect rarer things. The Santatron is a collector that can be programmed to look for Holiday Gifts. The Santatron collector is available in the Atomic Shop.
But, if you already own it, it's important to lock it to prevent other players from looting it. Be sure to also lock the terminal, as some mischievous players may be tempted to change your Santratron's settings to stop it from farming Holiday Gifts.
To get the most out of a Santatron, you can build one at every workshop on the map. So, if you take over a couple of workshops, then you can have multiple Santatrons gathering Holiday gifts while you play. Also, during workshop defense events, there's a chance that you'll need to fend off a couple of waves of Scorched. Like with all Scorched enemies (outside of instances), there's a good chance that a couple of them will be Holiday Scorched.
Get Extra Gifts With Caps
For those who don't want to spend time hunting down Holiday Scorched, it is possible to buy Gift Wrap from train station vendors and the robot vendors in the Whitespring Mall. Most robot vendors will sell one of each type of gift wrap. However, the vendor at the Whitespring Station will have two of each gift wrap in its inventory. You can also hop servers to refresh the robot vendor's stock.
There are three types of Gift Wrap that players can buy with Caps:
- Low Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 219 Caps
- Medium Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 656 Caps
- High Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 1,925 Caps
To get the cheapest prices, you'll need to max out your charisma, equip the Hard Bargain perk, and take some Grape Mentats just before buying from a vendor.
The only wrapping paper that players should invest in is Medium Quality Wrapping paper as it gives players the best value for money. It's important to note that once you've purchased wrapping paper, you'll need to craft it into Holiday Gifts at a Tinker's Workbench. This will cost some resources, so be sure to have plenty of junk in your stash box or scrapbox.
