In Fallout 76, Feral Ghouls are aggressive creatures throughout Appalachia that attack humans and other animals on sight. They were once humans who were exposed to radiation after the Great War, which caused them to lose their mental faculties. Because of this, they cannot use weapons, something that the Scorched can do.

Feral Ghouls are frequently included in timed challenges for the seasonal system in Fallout 76, requiring players to eliminate many of them. While it may take some time to find enough to complete the challenge, the rewards are worth it. Players can earn valuable season experience and tickets to unlock unique loot. In addition, you must loot Nuke Launch Codes from the officer variant to launch a nuke from silos found in the game. Here's where you can easily find Feral Ghouls in Fallout 76.

It is common for Feral Ghouls to attack in groups, which can quickly overwhelm you as they rush in and strike you. However, they are very susceptible to headshots, and their limbs will become immobile for two minutes after being crippled. One important thing to remember about Feral Ghouls is that they can heal after exposure to radiation-type damage, so plan which weapons you will use when slaying them accordingly. You have a 15% chance of gaining Rad Worms from Feral Ghouls per attack.

In addition, Feral Ghouls do the following types of damage:

  • Unarmed Damage: 7-180
  • Radiation Damage: 3-110
  • Poison Damage: 1 piece of damage per second over 5 seconds

The damage listed above may not seem like much, but when multiplied for each Feral Ghoul in the attacking pack, it can have devastating effects that will quickly end your journey in Fallout 76.
