The Skyline Valley update brought in several new types of enemies to Fallout 76. Like the other regions in the game, Skyline Valley is a dangerous area with enemies lurking around every corner. The poor visibility in the area can make traversing it difficult. So, knowing where the enemies are can help to make conquering this new landscape slightly easier.
As players explore all that Skyline Valley has to offer, they will come across Thrashers at some point. These creatures are completely new to the world of Fallout. This guide will go through all there is to know about Thrashers and where they can be found.

Fallout 76's first map expansion update, Skyline Valley, offers some new enemies to take down on top of the new areas available to explore.
Article updated on August 11th, 2024, by Benjamin Joe: Now that players have had plenty of time to explore all that the Skyline Valley region has to offer, all the possible spawn locations for Thrashers have been discovered. Also, Thrashers are being used as event challenges, meaning that more players than ever are searching the ruins of Appalachia for signs of these overgrown turkeys.
While they aren't particularly difficult to kill, these pesky creatures can be tricky to track down. However, with the right knowledge, it's easy to find a couple of flocks of Thrashers. Thrashers are one of a few new creature types that were added to the game alongside the Skyline Valley Update.
What Are Thrashers?
Strange Overgrown Turkeys
Thrashers are mutated turkeys that roam around the Skyline Valley region. While they don't have a particularly hard-hitting attack , they tend to hang out in packs of 3, which makes them trickier to take down. High-level players will have no issues taking down a trio of Thrashers, but low-level players may have some difficulty.
These fast-moving creatures are very hostile and won't hesitate to attack you on sight. They use their beaks and talons to strike anyone they see. Fortunately, they don't have a ranged attack. So, to avoid taking damage, simply hop onto any structure and shoot them from above.
For the most part, the locations where you can find Thrashers will have some sort of structure that players can hop on to get away from the sharp talon attacks. From tents to cliff edges, it is fairly easy to hop out of reach of these creatures. Also, they aren't the most perceptive of creatures, so those who play using a sneak build will have no problem taking down a handful of Thrashers before they even realize they are under attack.
Where To Find Thrashers
Hunt For Thrashers
Thrashers are exclusively found within the Skyline Valley region, so if you are trying to hunt some down, you will only find them within this particular area. While these creatures can pop up as random encounters throughout the region, there are a few places where players can reliably find Thrashers:
- Naked Creek
- Directly West Of Naked Creek
- Southeast Of Big Meadows Gas Well
- Research Site Bavaria
- North Of Grindstone Arch
The best place to find Thrashers is at Naked Creek. If you spawn in and head straight ahead, you'll come across three Thrashers roaming around Naked Creek. After taking them down, continue west. You will come across another group of three Thrashers. By heading to Naked Creek, you can find a total of 6 Thrashers in less than 60 seconds.
During events and challenges that require players to hunt down some Thrashers, players who don't have access to a private server may have some issues finding Thrashers that haven't already been killed by another player. Should this be the case, then you can either server-hop until you find some living Thrashers, or head to some of the less popular locations like Research Site Bavaria or near Grindstone Arch.
For the most part, there is one Alpha Thrasher in every location. Once killed, Thrashers will have random loot that players can take. The loot isn't particularly noteworthy. The only things that players are going to get pretty consistently from killing Thrashers are Intestines.
Thrasher Variants
Three Types To Look Out For
There are three variants of Thashers that you'll come up against: Toxic Thrashers, Alpha Thrashers, and regular Thrashers. Out of the three, Alpha Thrashers are the trickiest to take down. That said, Thrashers, as a whole, aren't too difficult to kill. A few well-placed shots or hits to the head will take a Thrasher down pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, Thrashers aren't tamable creatures, so players won't be able to have one stationed at their CAMP. However, that may change in the future.
