Fallout London is by far one of the most ambitious and impressive mods ever released for a Bethesda game. In the ruins of London, players can find all kinds of interesting quests and characters, as well as unique weapons, armor, factions and companions. Fallout London also boasts hundreds of side quests to get lost in, ranging from collectibles and random encounters to full-blown warfare and boss fights.
Fallout London: All Side Quests
There are close to 200 side quests in Fallout London. Here's a list of them all.
In addition to its own unique and humorous British twists on many of Fallout's iconic brands, the game also makes reference to several previous quests and characters from the series. One such quest is Das Boote Von Anderen, in which players will come across a submarine periscope in the River Thames, much like the sunken Chinese submarine in Fallout 4. This is one of the most memorable side quests in the game, but players need to be careful since the wrong outcome can lead to the destruction of London and a premature ending to the game.
Where To Find The Submarine
To trigger the quest, players will need to head to the north-side riverbank of the Thames in-between Tower Bridge and London Bridge. An odd clicking noise should begin emitting from the raised periscope in the middle of the river, and approaching the river bank will activate the quest on the ATTA-Boy.
Fallout London: All Magazine Locations
Fallout 4's mod, Fallout London, has a lot of collectibles for players to find. Here's how to find all the magazines in the mod.
Next comes the task of navigating the small obstacle course which leads to the main hatch of the U-96 submarine. Be careful, since falling into the Thames will cause huge spikes in radiation and is likely to be fatal without a quick escape. For players who have fallen into the water, a single packet of Radaway can be found on the half-sunken rowing boat next to the sub entrance.
How To Get The Language Module
Upon entering the submarine, players will find two German military officers, Hans and Otto, bickering with the AI personality which is in control of the sub and its weaponry. Styled after the philosopher Immanuel Kant, the AI likes to lecture both his comrades and the player, and it quickly transpires that they want to translate the computer's speeches into English.
Fallout London: Best Traits
Fallout London lets players choose starting traits, similar to the traits offered in Fallout: New Vegas, allowing you to further flavor your build.
Players will then be asked to go and look for a Language Module in the Upton-Burke Headquarters on the other side of the river. First, they will be given the choice as to whether to take Hans or Otto with them. There are several ways across, but heading across London Bridge will be the fastest way for players who have already resolved any issues with Beefy, who resides there.
Upon reaching the Headquarters, head up to the second-highest level where the Research Terminal and a ladder going upwards are located. The Language Module can be found on a piece of analogue machinery nearby. Being the main Headquarters for a robot manufacturer, expect plenty of resistance in the form of turrets and protectrons.
How To Prevent The Nuclear Explosion
For players who have taken Otto to the surface, he will pause and begin a conversation before returning to the U-96. Players can pass a Charisma check to convince him to stay free and live a new life on the surface. Doing so is a big mistake! Without Otto's help, the AI will be out of control and lead to a nuclear launch, which ends the entire game with the obliteration of London and a cutscene to explain what happened.
Fallout London: 7 Iconic Landmarks You Can Visit
Fallout London, unsurprisingly, features several famous landmarks that populate the city. These are some of the most iconic.
Of course, it's always possible to reload an earlier save. Agreeing to install the Language Module will then enable a dialogue with Kant, which is the player's only chance of escaping the submarine. Believing the Wayfarer to be part of the crew, Kant locks down the submarine and doesn't allow players off.
How To Deal With Kant And Escape The Submarine
There are two ways players can escape from the submarine. The first is to speak with Kant and question him about his 'sacred duty'. When prompted, select the option: "Ah, so in order to achieve your goals, you treat people as a means to an end?". This will cause Kant to begin questioning his own logic and shutting down.
The second way in which players can complete the quest and escape is to have the Hacker perk. This will open up a unique dialogue option in which the player presents a logic puzzle to Kant, which he is unable to complete, also resulting in his shut down.
Fallout London: The Lost Tommies Quest Walkthrough
The Lost Tommies can be a tough quest in Fallout 4's Fallout London. Here's how to complete it.
Once Kant has been shut down, players will be rewarded with Hans' Flamethrower, one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It is worth completing the quest for this item alone, but it is also possible to get a very powerful pistol by killing Hans and looting his body after the quest has finished. Both ghouls will be unkillable unless the player decides to finish them off in their downed state.
Where To Find All Submarine Keycards
In addition to the quest, players can also find an abundance of hidden valuable rewards by solving a mini-puzzle in the form of key cards and locked doors. The cards can be difficult to spot, so keep an eye out in the following locations:
- Electrical Division ID Card - On the console surface next to Kant and Helmut's skeleton in the main area.
- Reactor Maintenance ID Card - On the grey console to the left after heading down the first set of stairs.
- Cold Storage Room Card - On the table in the main canteen area.
- Reactor Control Room ID Card - On top of a container inside the cold storage room (joined to the canteen).
- Commander ID Card - On the main console desk inside the Reactor Control Room.
Upon opening up the Reactor Maintenance area and the adjoining canteen, players will have to face off against several ghouls, including a Legendary Putrid Glowing One. It is worth being prepared for this fight as it is very difficult without substantial aid and ammunition. It's always possible to retreat to the upper levels and get some assistance from Hans and Otto, who will attack ghouls whenever they are hostile and nearby. Once all rooms have been unlocked, players will have full access to the submarine, as well as control over the nuclear launch keys.
