Now, Team FOLON has announced that Fallout: London will be out on St. George’s Day, April 23, 2024. The creators also unveiled a launch trailer of the Fallout 4 mod, which shows many well-known places in London such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace in their post-apocalyptic versions. According to the developers, the mod is already “content-complete” at the moment, but the release was pushed back to allow for a longer testing period. Many members of Team FOLON come from countries affected by conflicts, and this directly affected the development of Fallout: London.​​​​​​​

One of the goals of the developers in not setting the game in America is to be able to explore new cultures, as well as pre-war European history. Fallout: London will have entirely new factions, such as the Fifth Column, Camelot, Tommies, and London’s Gentry, which are all part of a fresh take on the franchise’s lore.

Fallout: London is set to be DLC-sized, according to its creators, having several hours of gameplay. While its main story will not likely be as long as Bethesda’s game, it will feature quite a large landmass, which is comparable to the ones in the expansions of Fallout 4. As a comparison, Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC takes around 30 minutes to walk across, so gamers can expect London to be huge and filled with interesting details.

The release of Fallout: London is perfectly aligned with the one for Amazon Studios’ Fallout TV show. The series will be out by April 12, 2024, two weeks before the mod. While Amazon’s series will be set in 2296 and in the United States, it’ll likely generate some interest in the mod, as its existence may bring more players to Fallout 4 or give long-time fans the urge to replay the game.
