Summary

  • Fallout TV series renewed for season two with Macaulay Culkin joining the cast.
  • Culkin's role speculated to be Fantastic or Arcade Gannon from Fallout: New Vegas.
  • Season two premiere date not announced yet, potential 2026 release.

The Amazon Prime Video drama, Fallout, has been renewed for season two and, along with it, fans will see returning characters as well as welcoming the Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin to the cast. As many try to figure out who Culkin will be jumping into the shoes of in the show, one fan-theory has narrowed down who he might be playing in the video game adaptation. Released just over a year ago, in April 2023, and created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet for Prime Video, the Fallout TV series is based on Bethesda’s long-running post-role-playing video game franchise of the same name set two hundred years after the apocalypse.

Due to how successful season one of Fallout was, which saw five million views, 2.5 billion minutes watched in the show's first full week, and a score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, it was only a matter of time before season two was given the greenlight. Starring a fantastic lineup of talent with the likes of Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Walton Goggins at the helm, Fallout also added a host of accolades to its already prosperous run, which saw the show pick up 17 Emmy nominations. As season two's information has been somewhat slow to trickle in, theories point to newcomer Macaulay Culkin and what role he'll end up portraying.

Who Could Macaulay Culkin Play in Fallout Season 2?

Death Stranding fans predict Fallout tv show's Ella Purnell is in the cast

Over on Reddit, where many theories call home, a post by DistrictAccurate9173 has highlighted what role Macaulay Culkin could play in Fallout when the series returns. So far, all that fans know is that Culkin will apparently play a "crazy genius-type character," and is one of the few bits of information we've gotten about season two, so it goes without saying that imaginations are running wild right now. However, even though Culkin's role is in the guessing game stage, the Redditor does come up with a pretty solid hunch that he could be playing the conman Fantastic, a character plucked from the Fallout: New Vegas game. Even though there are many characters seen throughout multiple Fallout games, Fantastic only appears in New Vegas and is portrayed as an immature and egotistical con artist, who also happens to have a drug problem.

Another popular Reddit theory seems to be that Culkin could take on the role of Fallout's Arcade Gannon, a witty and intelligent scientist with the Followers of the Apocalypse in Fallout: New Vegas, which is certainly a more positive leap than being an annoying crook, and it certainly plays more into the "genius-type" that was previously mentioned. Either way, fans are champing at the bit to dive back into the apocalyptic Las Vegas setting that was explored in 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas, and whether Culkin plays a character already known or a brand new one, the chances are the seasoned actor will take it on with his usual skilled flair.

While there isn't a release date for Fallout season two just yet, although a possible 2026 window is likely, the first season of the Amazon series is available to stream on Prime Video.
