Fallout Shelter is getting four new Legendary Dwellers and a pet based on characters from the Amazon Prime TV show that players can add to their Vaults. These new dwellers follow the addition of the show's Lucy, The Ghoul, Maximus, Ma June, the Snake Oil Salesman, and Ed the Ghoul to the list of Legendary Dwellers in Fallout Shelter.
Fallout Shelter surprised fans when it was announced and released on the same day back during 2015's E3. The free-to-play game gives players the opportunity to run their own Vault with special Legendary Dweller cameos of various characters of importance from throughout the franchise's history. Players have to continuously contend with threats to the Vault Dwellers, whether the threat is breaking in from the outside or is simply due to a lack of resources on the inside. Legendary Dwellers typically have superior stats to standard Vault Dwellers, so these four new additions may be a big help to some fans.
Fallout Shelter: What Does Each SPECIAL Stat Do?
Increasing efficiency for your dwellers largely relies on how you handle their SPECIAL stats in Fallout Shelter. Here's what they do.
Fallout Shelter has officially announced that the Fallout TV series' Vault Overseers Betty and Hank, Lucy's quest-giver Wilzig, and pre-apocalypse Cooper Howard are being added to the game. The game is also adding Rollerbrain as a new pet. All five additions can be found in Lunchboxes, the game's take on lootboxes. Anyone who plays the mobile version of the game on July 25 will unlock Cooper Howard for free.
Will Fallout Shelter Get More TV Show Tie-Ins?
Now that Fallout Shelter has added a number of important characters from the show, it remains to be seen if more will arrive in the future. There are some both from Lucy's Vault 33 and the wasteland that could fit in well. For example, Lucy's brother as well as her cousin, Norm MacLean and Chet respectively, or even Moldaver. If these characters do get added, it might not happen until season 2 of the Fallout show releases. Considering that what players get in Fallout Shelter's Lunchboxes is largely based on luck, though, some may need some time unlocking these five new Vault additions anyway.
It's been a very exciting time to be a fan of the Fallout games. In addition to the show and this update to Fallout Shelter, players have also seen Fallout 4 next-gen update and the eagerly-awaited and ambitious Fallout London mod launch. Player numbers of the games surged following the release of the show, proving their capability to not only draw in old players but attract new ones, too.
