Having been developed by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, expectations were high ahead of the release of Fantasian. For the most part, at least, the two-part turn-based JRPG was able to live up to this hype, even if some players found the game's plot to be a little too generic for their tastes. It currently boasts an average rating of 80 on Metacritic, with its user score sitting at an impressive 8.5.
With both parts of Fantasian now available for download, there's arguably never been a better time to delve into Sakaguchi's latest creation. Those who do are going to want to get their hands on the best equipment though, which, in many cases, will require them to make use of the game's upgrade system. This guide will explain how to upgrade armor in Fantasian, as well as provide information regarding the materials needed to do so.
How to Upgrade Armor in Fantasian
Upgrading armor in Fantasian is relatively straightforward, assuming, that is, that players already have the necessary upgrade materials in their inventory. Once they do, they'll simply need to head over to the Secret Base and access the Equipment Conversion Module. They should then choose the "Upgrade Equipment" option and click on "Armor."
Doing so will bring up a list of all of the player's upgradable armor, with both stats and the materials needed to make the upgrades listed. Players should press on the armor that they wish to upgrade and then click on the "Upgrade" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the subsequent pop-up menu. There's no further confirmation required from this point, so players should make sure that they're certain before they push the button.
Where to Find Upgrade Materials in Fantasian
There are four different materials used to upgrade armor in Fantasian, all of which can also be used to upgrade weapons. Players will find these items in chests during the early stages of the game meaning that they are somewhat limited, though they do become farmable once players reach the God Realm later on. For those wondering, Void Marble and Yim's Tears (end-game components required for Psi and Infinity weapons) cannot be used to upgrade armor.
- Where to Find Whetstone: Whetstones can be found in chests or farmed from enemies in the God Realm.
- Where to Find Chaos Clay: Chaos Clay can be found in chests or farmed from enemies in the God Realm.
- Where to Find Order Motes: Order Motes can be found in chests or farmed from enemies in the God Realm.
- Where to Find Deus Augite: Deus Augite can be found in chests or farmed from enemies in the God Realm.
