Once you unlock new areas in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you're going to want to saddle up and get a mount. Mounts are creatures or vehicles that you can ride for faster transport in most areas. Fantasy Life i has a total of 17 mounts. Some mounts can be purchased with Dosh, but others will require you to go out and hunt specific monsters, complete the main story, or craft.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is a completionist's dream, but some trophies/achievements are quite difficult to unlock.
How to Unlock Mounts in Fantasy Life i
Complete "Find a Ride"
You'll unlock mounts after you've returned to the present (ie: complete Chapter 1). You will then reunite with Edward and explore some of the Depths. An event will occur that sends you to a new area called Ginormosia.
From here, follow the main story objective markers, and you'll eventually come across a sandy area that can't be crossed on foot. You'll then need to assist a boorbear boss merchant and give him x1 Soothing Water. Complete this quest, and you'll get your first mount: a camel.
After you unlock the camel mount, you'll be able to start collecting mounts. If you bought the Digital Deluxe Edition, then you'll also receive the Mini Napdragon.
Mount Controls in Fantasy Life i
To summon a mount, tap L1/LB/L. If you try to call for your mount in an area that they can't be summoned, a horse icon with a cross over it will pop up over your character. Generally, you can't use your mount inside buildings or caverns. You also can't swim while riding a mount.
Controls for the mount are the exact same when you don't have a mount. The sprint/dash and jump buttons are the same, and you can quickly dismount by tapping the action/attack button of your equipped Combat Life.

When hunting mounts from enemies, equip an accessory or armor piece that has the Item Drop Rate+ skills. The skills on your buddies' armor can also stack with your money, meaning you can potentially have well over a 100% drop rate if your entire party is equipped with Item Drop Rate+ armor.
