The Nintendo Switch 2 is on the verge of release, and now Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has shown off what players can expect from the upgraded version of the game. Though Fantasy Life i previously announced that players could expect improvements to graphics and load times, it's now shared full details on just how big a difference the Switch 2 version is.

WIth the Nintendo Switch 2 being largely backward compatible with original Switch games, many fans will be bringing over an extensive library to the new system. However, rather than just playing simple ports, many Switch games are offering upgrades, which cost a little extra but provide a boost to the game so it can take full advantage of the new, more powerful hardware.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is Nintendo's latest console to hit store shelves, but what games will be available on day one? Here's what you need to know!

Fantasy Life i is one of those games, and now the title has released a pair of videos demonstrating how big a difference there is between the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game. The first trailer demonstrates the clarity possible with the Switch 2's improved graphics, showing a character chopping down a tree. While both versions look pretty good, the improved fidelity of the Switch 2 version is immediately apparent. Textures look sharper, and when zoomed in to show detail, the difference becomes even more apparent, with the character having higher visual clarity, and with none of the jagged flickering visible on the original version.

Loading Time Improves in Fantasy Life i: The GIrl Who Steals Time

Another video demonstrates how much faster the Switch 2 version will be when it comes to loading time. For example, on the start menu, players of the upgraded Switch 2 version only have to wait a little over six seconds for the critically-acclaimed Fantasy Life i to fully boot up, while the original version took 12 seconds. Another improvement is the load time for Teleportation Gates, which takes under 10 seconds from confirming travel to arriving, while the original Switch release took 17 seconds to do the same.

The Switch 2 version of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time isn't one of the free Switch game upgrades, unfortunately. However, the price of the upgrade is quite low, costing a mere $2.59, a small fraction of the $59.99 base price for the game. The upgrade will be available when the Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5. While the upgrade doesn't include any new content, players who are already enjoying Fantasy Life i and intend to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 will see significant improvements and spend less time waiting by buying the upgrade.
