On Reddit, a user going by mojoswoptops2020 has shared images of the Far Cry 5 map they created based on the town of Nipton in Fallout: New Vegas. Gamers who played Obsidian Entertainment's action RPG will remember Nipton as a town that has been destroyed by Caesar's Legion that can be discovered early in a playthrough. The location serves to introduce the brutality of this faction as players learn how the Legion invaded the town and proceeded to torture and execute all but two inhabitants. Nipton looks truly terrifying when it's discovered in the game and mojoswoptops2020 recreates that with great care.

The Fallout: New Vegas Town of Nipton is Brought to Far Cry 5

Fans of the fifth entry in Ubisoft's shooter series have long known the potential of its map-editing feature and continue to make excellent use of it. Recently, for example, this same Far Cry 5 player built incredible maps inspired by Far Cry 2 that had gamers excited. Others have already figured out how to use the editor to honor other games, as well.

Just last month, a Far Cry 5 player combined Skyrim style and a Call of Duty map for another editor creation. While many of these fan-generated maps have been impressive environments and superb recreations of other titles' aesthetics, few have managed to capture such a grim and spooky vibe as this representation of the town of Nipton.

Fallout: New Vegas is an old game, but it still holds a special place in the hearts of many players. There is still a passionate community that likes to replay and discuss the title and even bring its lore and setting into other games. This passion is a big part of why some argue that Fallout: New Vegas deserves a remake soon.
