It's an exciting time for SNK and Capcom fans as the two companies have once again teamed up, this time bringing Street Fighter's Ken Masters to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. While not a complete surprise, considering the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves DLC roadmap confirmed Ken and Chun Li, this is the first time fans are seeing the iconic fighter in action.
While commonly positioned as rivals due to each company's legendary fighting game franchises, both Capcom and SNK have recently become friendly once again. Alongside the rerelease of the SNK vs Capcom series in the recent Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Street Fighter 6 has seen the addition of Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters franchises. As popular as those additions were, Capcom is now handing SNK two of its own highly popular characters to use.
Hardest Characters to Master in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Ranked
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves features a variety of classic characters, as well as some unorthodox newcomers. These are the hardest to master.
While previously revealed as concept artwork for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves DLC character roadmap, SNK finally fully revealed the addition of Ken Masters through a new trailer, even if a release date wasn't provided quite yet. Ken's Street Fighter 6 voice actor, David Matranga, is back voicing the character for City of the Wolves, and players will have his newer look with the brown coat as an available cosmetic option. However, players can also select Ken's iconic red gi outfit as an alternative, bringing the classic look from Street Fighter 2 into the game as well.
Street Fighter's Ken Masters Joins the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Roster
In terms of moves, Ken will likely feel pretty familiar to longtime fans. His SNK appearance features all the moves one would expect like his Shoryuken, Hadoken, Tatsumaki Senpu-kyakuas as well as some of his newer abilities seen in Street Fighter 6. For instance, the trailer shows off his Dragonlash Kick, a jumping flying kick that forces a side switch. The trailer also reveals his Ignition and Redline Gears like the Shoryureppa as well as SNK's take on Ken's Shinryu Reppa.
SNK is likely hoping that Ken's arrival later this summer will supercharge game sales, as even though the title has seen plenty of positivity from the community, the game hasn't sold as well as the company would have hoped. In fact, the sluggish launch resulted in SNK's CEO stepping down from his position at the company. Though with Ken and then Chun Li arriving in the near future, the outlook may be a bit brighter for City of the Wolves.
