Released in the summer of 2021, Netflix's Fear Street trilogy was based on the young adult book series by R.L. Stine and told three connected stories about the creepy small town of Shadyside. Each movie is set in a different time period that includes 1994, 1978, and 1666. One common thread throughout? The memorable character of Sarah Fier, who appears to be a villain who cursed Shadyside long ago. Played by Elizabeth Scopel and Kiana Madeira, Sarah is a fascinating and mysterious character who proves why horror fans couldn't get enough of these three films.
Fear Street Part 3: 1666 provided fans with answers about Sarah FIer's identity, clearing up whether she was a witch and what she was trying to achieve. Who is Sarah Fier in Fear Street and will she appear in the upcoming Fear Street Part 4?
Who Is Sarah Fier And Is She A Witch In Netflix's Fear Street?
The character of Sarah Fier is introduced in Fear Street Part One: 1994. The main characters think that Sarah Fier is a witch who cursed Shadyside because she was burned at the stake for being a witch. And the characters think that beating her is the only way to save their small town from more death and pain.
Deena travels back in time to 1666 at the end of Fear Sreet Part One: 1978 and learns what happened to her. The third movie in the trilogy also confirms that Sarah Fier wasn't actually a witch at all. She was framed instead.
Is Sarah Fier In Every Netflix Fear Street Movie?
Sarah Fier is in Fear Street Part One: 1994, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666. In the first movie in the Fear Street franchise, Sam has a vision of Sarah Fier, which freaks her out. Sarah's spirit takes over Sam, who tries to kill Deena. Now Deena has to do her best to stop Sarah from possessing Sam forever and killing people in Shadyside.
Sarah Fier plays a smaller role in Fear Street Part Two: 1978 but she does appear to Christine "Ziggy" Berman (Sadie Sink) in a vision. In what is one of the coolest parts of the movie, the different Shadyside villains appear out of nowhere and begin attacking the campers. The movie also arguably has the best setting as it's fun to see Ziggy attending camp. And this, of course, is a nice nod to the timeless 1980s horror movie Friday the 13th.
Fear Street Part Three: 1666 tells the fascinating origin story of Sarah Fier. It's revealed that, yes, she was a witch, but she isn't the actual villain who cursed Shadyside. That was Solomon Goode (Ashley Zukerman), who communicates with the Devil and agrees to hurt people in order to be powerful. He cuts off Sarah Fier's hand as well. Sarah Fier is definitely a more compelling character than many classic horror villains. It becomes clear that she was terribly misunderstood and that people mistreated her, which is tough to watch. She is a smart example of a horror villain with a complex backstory. And thankfully, Fear Street does explain what really happened to her.
There are a few things that Fear Street: Part Four can do to improve on the Netflix franchise. But Sarah Fier is a well-crafted character and the pain that she feels makes her more sympathetic than she appears to be at first. The twist that she isn't the one who put a curse on Shadyside is well done. Hopefully there will be another surprising twist in Fear Street: Part Four.
Will Sarah Fier Be In Netflix's Fear Street 4?
It doesn't appear that Sarah Fier will be in the upcoming movie Fear Street: Part 4 as her story comes to an end in Fear Street: Part 3: 1666. It's revealed that she isn't the villain after all and that Solomon Goode is the person who everyone should have been afraid of this entire time.
This is a good thing, however, as it allows Fear Street: Part Four to tell a new story. Fear Street' s moving love story between Sam and Deena is part of what makes the trilogy worth watching. If the upcoming fourth movie will feature the same characters, hopefully this couple will still be together and their connection can be explored even more. And if there are brand new characters, then hopefully they will be as well-developed as Sam and Deena.
No matter what Fear Street Part Four is about, it will hopefully be as engaging as the previous trilogy. And hopefully it will include just as many nods and references to classic horror movies as the previous three movies.
