Your first week in Fields of Mistria can be overwhelming, but as you go through the days, you'll unlock new gameplay features and quests to obtain new tools, crafting items, and Tesserae (money). New quests can be obtained from the bulletin board next to the general store in Mistria, but you'll want to make a habit of checking your mailbox, too. Three-four days into your first week of spring, you'll receive your first Fields of Mistria Story Quest. "Repair the Bridge" is a simple task for new players and one that you can complete relatively quickly.
Fields of Mistria: How To Unlock The Mill (And Where To Find It)
There are a few things to do first before you can unlock the mill and start repairing it in Fields of Mistria.

How to Complete "Repair the Bridge"
You'll receive a letter in the mail on Spring 3 from Adeline asking you for help with repairing the bridge. Go to the Eastern Road to trigger a cutscene. To get to the Eastern Road, just take the right path in front of the Bathhouse.
The bridge needs 60 Wood and 60 Stone, which you can place in the nearby donation box. After you've deposited all materials in the donation box, you will need to speak with Adeline to complete the quest.
Balor suggests gathering the materials from your farmland. If you chop down trees and clear away rocks, you'll have 60 of each in no time. However, the location where you get the materials doesn't matter. You can clear away trees on the Eastern Road, Sweetwater Farm, and The Narrows if you'd prefer.
It's recommended you clear some of the debris off your property. Plus, if you farm the materials on your land, then you can return to the cabin to empty your inventory when it gets full.
At this point, you'll already have the axe to chop wood, but you'll need the pickaxe for stone. You can get one by accepting the request "Do a Bro a Favor" from the bulletin board on Spring 2. All you need to do is find Olric and speak to him. If you're not sure where to find him, you can check his location by viewing the Map (M key).
With a full bar of stamina/energy, you'll be able to get half the materials in one day. Find yourself low on stamina? You can replenish it by doing any of the following:
- Grab a bowl of soup at the Sleeping Dragon Inn by inspecting the cauldron. You can only get one free bowl a day.
- Use the Bathhouse. However, it'll cost you 100 Tesserae, and since this is your first week, you may want to save your money or spend it on seeds instead.
Make sure to get to bed before 2am. Going to bed late means your character oversleeps. This results in low stamina the following day.

Since "Repair the Bridge" is a story quest, you'll need to complete it to progress the "story". Once the bridge is repaired, it will unlock the Saturday Market. During the Saturday Market, four vendors will set up stalls in Mistria to sell various items. Most are food/drinks, but you can get accessories, recipes, and furniture, too. The prices may be a bit high for a new player, but you should have enough Tesserae by your second week of spring.
If you want to unlock the Saturday Market as soon as possible, you should have it repaired before Spring 6/Saturday. You get "Repair the Bridge" on Spring 3, so this gives you 3 days to gather your materials and turn in the quest.
