Fighting Force Series Makes Comeback With New Limited Run Games Announcement
Released in 1997 for PC, Fighting Force was released for PS1 in the same year and came out for Nintendo 64 in 1999. In the game, players choose one of four protagonists, Hawk Manson, Mace Daniels, Ben "Smasher" Jackson, and Alana McKendrick, to face Dr. Zeng and his army. Fighting Force 2 was released for PS1 and Dreamcast in 1999, and tells a story that takes place in a future where cloning has become a reality but is forbidden. This time, Hawk is the only playable character, and his mission is to investigate the Knackmiche Corporation for suspected cloning research.
That isn't Limited Run Games' first partnership with Square Enix, who teamed up to announce the Gex Trilogy last year, with the return of the classic platformer scheduled for later this year. The announcement of the Fighting Force Collection, meanwhile, is encouraging news for veteran gamers who will be able to reminisce about the classic series now on modern consoles. That will also be a good opportunity for newcomers who will get to know two games released in the late 90s.
