Final Fantasy 10 Fans Show Off Their Yuna and Tidus Cosplay

Two fans of Final Fantasy 10 took to social media to share their cosplays inspired by the series' iconic couple, Tidus and Yuna. The Final Fantasy 10 fans reenacted several scenes from the game for a cosplay photo shoot, including the underwater date and the Sending, with other fans complimenting the duo for their incredible attention to detail.

The majority of Final Fantasy 10's story was told via flashbacks, as the main protagonist, Tidus, recounted his tale to Yuna and the other party members. Tidus began his story by explaining how he washed up on the shores of Spira, a land inspired by Southeast Asian myths and cultures, following an attack by the monstrous Sin. After befriending Wakka, Tidus then joined Yuna on her summoner's pilgrimage to save Spira by defeating Sin. Through their shared experiences on the pilgrimage, Tidus and Yuna eventually fall in love. The bond between Tidus and Yuna also served as a pivotal plot point of Final Fantasy 10-2.

Unsurprisingly, Tidus and Yuna remain popular cosplay choices among Final Fantasy fans, and two fans recently shared their takes on the iconic pair. On the Final Fantasy subreddit, a content creator named Sweet Nayru shared images of her Yuna and Tidus costumes, both made by her. Sweet Nayru said that she crafted both outfits by hand, and that the pictures were taken by a professional photographer named Charles Lan. For Tidus' outfit, a band of chainmail was wrapped around the left sleeve, while the rest consisted of cloth and leather. The model, known as Fan Guy, donned a blonde wig to complete Tidus' look. As for Yuna, Sweet Nayru wore her iconic summoner's attire, which consisted of a long purple skirt, a large yellow sash, and white arm gauntlets. Yuna's staff and Tidus' Brotherhood sword were also included in each respective cosplay.

The Tidus and Yuna cosplays were made for the 2025 Anime Expo, which took place in early July in Los Angeles. Both Sweet Nayru and Fan Guy reenacted some of Final Fantasy 10's best-known scenes during the photo shoot. The underwater date between Tidus and Yuna, where the two characters shared a moment underneath the blue boughs of Macalania Woods, and the Sending ceremony from Kilika Island, were referenced by both cosplays.

In response, Final Fantasy fans complimented Sweet Nayru and Fan Guy for their depictions of Tidus and Yuna. While Final Fantasy has since turned away from the turn-based combat systems utilized in games like Final Fantasy 10, it remains to be seen if future entries will provide similar experiences as tributes to the past.
