Summary

  • Automatic housing demolition in Final Fantasy 14 resumes June 6 at 4:00 AM Eastern.
  • Players have three weeks to reset their timers to 45 days to prevent demolition.
  • Square Enix will notify players facing demolition two weeks in advance.

On May 16, Square Enix announced that automatic housing demolition in Final Fantasy 14 would be restarted shortly after the launch of the upcoming Patch 7.25. Final Fantasy 14 homeowners on the North American data centers have a limited time to re-enter their virtual properties and ensure the automatic demolition timers are reset to their full 45-day duration before the current pause is lifted.

Housing in Final Fantasy 14 remains one of the hottest commodities in the game, with each server having a limited number of home plots available for both players and free companies to vie for. Since the Endwalker expansion, every housing plot in Final Fantasy 14 that becomes available for any reason is then subject to a housing lottery drawing, requiring millions of Gil per entry. Eligibility depends on which ward and server the home plot is on. While most housing plots are available to individual bidders and free companies, some plots are exclusive to either group. Lottery entries that don't win have their Gil returned.

Square Enix Has Good News for Xbox Fans

Following a new financial report briefing, Square Enix shares an update that offers some encouraging news to Xbox console users.

Five months after Final Fantasy 14 hit the pause button on automatic housing demolitions, the process will be restarted soon. According to a Lodestone post, Final Fantasy 14's automatic housing demolition timers will resume on Friday, June 6, at approximately 4:00 AM Eastern. Ergo, players on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis data centers in North America have three weeks to re-enter any individual properties or free company homes they are associated with. After doing so, the respective housing timers will reset to 45 days. Since the current housing timer moratorium was enacted on the evening of January 9 due to the California wildfires, players who have entered their virtual homes in Eorzea after the pause was enacted are covered.

When Will Final Fantasy 14 Housing Demolitions Resume?

  • Friday, June 6, at approximately 4:00 AM Eastern.

Final Fantasy 14 previously removed the housing timer moratorium on January 8, following a pause enacted by the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. The timer was then paused a day later due to the California wildfires. Once the pause is lifted, any timers not set back to 45 days will resume from where they were frozen. Square Enix will notify players facing demolition with a notice approximately two weeks before the housing plot is erased and subsequently put up for lottery bids.

The housing demolition timers will resume during the upcoming Make It Rain Campaign, which will run in Final Fantasy 14 from May 19 to June 11. How many housing plots will open once the moratorium lifts remains to be seen.
