Final Fantasy 14 is often touted for its intense boss encounters and impressive raids. However, players who are looking to relax with slower-paced, simple-life gameplay like crafting and gathering should have no fear. The game features a robust crafting and gathering system complete with rotations and best-in-slot gear sets. Players have the ability to craft exclusive cosmetic gear, as well as powerful armor and weapons that even the most hardcore raiders will be interested in. Crafters and gatherers have no shortage of things to do in Final Fantasy 14.
To help players along in their blue-collar journey, the Custom Delivery system gives would-be crafters and gatherers a weekly boost to their progression. This can come in the form of massive experience gains, or as a major source of end-game currency to purchase exclusive crafting materials and gear. Those looking to get the most out of their Disciples of the Hand and Land will not want to miss out.

How to Unlock Custom Deliveries
Custom Deliveries are a weekly objective that allows players to deliver specially-requested Collectable items to NPCs in exchange for major experience rewards and end-game currency. To unlock the Custom Delivery system, players must unlock a variety of crafting and gathering systems. One of these is the Collectables system, which allows players to craft and gather items exclusively intended for NPC turn-ins or Aetherial Reduction. The other is the Scrip Exchange, a crafter and gatherer-specific set of currencies and vendors.
You can unlock both of these by completing the level 50 Heavensward Main Scenario Quest "The Better Half," and the level 50 quest "Inscrutable Tastes" in Foundation (X:10, Y:10). However, when the Scrip Exchange is first unlocked, only items up to level 50 will be available. To expand the Scrip Exchange's inventory, you will need to complete further quests in each subsequent expansion. The full list of Scrip Exchange unlock quests is as follows:
|
Unlocked System |

Quest Provider |

|---|---|---|---|

|
Level 90 Scrip Exchange |

|
While this list includes every quest to unlock each expansion's Scrip Exchange, Custom Delivery clients require only the Scrip Exchange for their corresponding level bracket to be unlocked. For example, you can unlock level 70 Custom Delivery clients with only the level 80 Scrip Exchange available, even if the level 90 Scrip Exchange is still locked.
How to Unlock Custom Delivery Clients
After unlocking the Collectables and Scrip Exchange systems, players can unlock Custom Delivery clients by completing their individual side quests. Players have a total of 12 Custom Delivery allowances per week, with a maximum limit of six deliveries per client per week. Delivering items to clients will reward players with large amounts of experience and crafter scrips. These rewards depend on the collectability rating of the item submitted, as well as a static amount of client satisfaction. Filling up the client's satisfaction meter will raise their satisfaction level, progressing their story and changing the requested item. Delivering six items to a client every week will guarantee one satisfaction level every week, up to a maximum satisfaction level of five.
Upon reaching level five satisfaction with a Custom Delivery Client and completing their story, you will unlock a final bonus that the client can request. These deliveries will grant additional experience and currency rewards compared to their non-bonus counterparts. The final delivery will also grant client-exclusive rewards. These can include achievements and titles, the ability to apply custom glamours to the client, or even exclusive mounts and cosmetic armor. Considering the payoff, it's worthwhile for players looking to earn specific rewards to focus on those clients first. The full list of Custom Delivery clients and their unlock requirements is:

How to Craft Collectable Items
Crafting Collectable items to deliver to clients works similarly to the regular crafting process. Items marked as Collectables can be found within Special Recipes category in the Crafting Log. They are indicated with a box icon next to their name, as well as the specification "Always Synthesized as Collectable" in the recipe characteristics. These recipes alter the function of the Quality gauge when crafting. They can improve the chance to craft an improved, high-quality version of the item. They could also raise the item's Collectability rating, a stat on the final item that improves the rewards received for turning it in, split into three discrete tiers indicated within the crafting window.
Like with regular crafting, players will want to raise the Quality gauge, which you can do by using Touch actions and the Innovation buff. You can maintain the item's durability with actions like Manipulation or Waste Not. Complete the item by filling the Progress gauge with Synthesis actions and the Veneration buff. Crafters that out-level the recipe level by at least 10 levels can instantly max out the item's Quality gauge using the Trained Eye action.
How to Gather Collectable Items
You can find a list of gatherable Collectable items in the Gathering Log under the Special tab under the Collectables category. These indicated with a box icon next to their name. However, the process of gathering Collectables differs greatly from gathering normal items. Attempting to gather a Collectable item will open a new interface, allowing players to use special gatherer actions to improve the item's Collectability rating. Primary Actions will improve the Collectability of all items gathered from the node. This will consume the character's GP and the node's integrity, reducing the number of times the player can gather from the node. You can use Secondary Actions to improve the effects of Primary Actions, further raising the Collectability of items gathered.
The general recommended rotation for gathering collectibles is to start with Scrutinize, Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector, Scrutinize, Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector. This will both maximize Collectability and preserve the node's integrity if you get lucky. If you still require more collectability, proceed with another Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector if they have a Collector's Intuition proc, or Scour if not. Once you reach the desired collectability, begin collecting using the Collect action, and Ageless Woods/Solid Reason to gather additional times at the node.
Players looking to fish for their Collectables will find the process nearly identical to regular fishing. The only requirement to gather collectable fish is to toggle the Collect action, granting yourself the Collector's Glove buff, turning any and all gathered fish into a Collectable version of the same item. The fishes' Collectability rating will be based on their size, and increases with actions like Patience and Patience II, or Nature's Bounty when spearfishing. Be warned, however, that it is possible to gather Collectable fish as a non-Collectable item, rendering them useless. Be extra diligent when it comes to toggling your Collector's Glove buff.
