  • Final Fantasy 14's Moonfire Faire event returns from August 8 to 26, offering players a new emote and housing item.

  • Past Moonfire Faire items will be on sale at the FF14 Online Store during the event.

Final Fantasy 14 confirmed the return of the annual Moonfire Faire, which marked the first event of the new Dawntrail expansion since its July 2 launch. Final Fantasy 14 players who take part in the Moonfire Faire will earn a new "Uchiwasshoi" emote and a bomb-themed decoration for their virtual home collections.

The news of the Moonfire Faire's return came days after the launch of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.05. The content update introduced the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon, the Arcadion's first Savage raid tier, and Job balance updates across the board. Among the major Job changes were some reworks to the Viper's core rotation, further adjustments to the Black Mage in response to player feedback, and potency buffs for the Paladin, Machinist, and Red Mage. The Samurai saw nerfs to its core rotation but received a change to its Tsubame-gaeshi ability that will see it used more often to compensate.

With the 7.05 content update now available, Final Fantasy 14 unveiled its plans for Dawntrail's first event that players can look forward to. According to Square Enix, the Moonfire Faire will start Thursday, August 8, at 4:00 AM Eastern and conclude Monday, August 26, at 10:59 AM Eastern. Final Fantasy 14 players who want to join the festivities must accept the level 30 quest "Fire Red, Beast Green" in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa by speaking to a Lalafell NPC named Mayaru Moyaru. The quest will then take players to Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea, where the traditional Eorzean Nimble Warrior obstacle course is likely to return for players to test their jumping skills.

Final Fantasy 14 Announces 2024 Moonfire Faire Event

  • The annual Moonfire Faire will run from August 8 to 26.
  • Players at level 30 or higher can participate via the quest "Fire Red, Beast Green" in Limsa Lominsa.
  • New rewards include the "Uchiwasshoi" emote and the Bouncing Bomb Balloon housing item.

Final Fantasy 14 players who complete the 2024 Moonfire Faire quests will earn a new emote called "Uchiwasshoi," which allows characters to wave a large fan with a Namazu face on it. Players can also obtain a Bouncing Bomb Balloon indoor furnishing item, which can be placed on a table inside any size of house or apartment in the game. Both items will be available for the duration of the Moonfire Faire before becoming unobtainable until next year. Past Moonfire Faire items, such as the Phoenix Riser attire, will go on sale at the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store once the event begins.

Anyone looking to collect past Moonfire Faire items at a discount will have another opportunity to do so. Between the return of the Moonfire Faire, and scheduled appearances at Gamescom and PAX West, Final Fantasy 14 players will have plenty to look forward to throughout August.
