Final Fantasy 14 is teasing a big 12th anniversary announcement on August 27 at 12 AM PT, which will almost certainly include the dates for the next Fan Festival. It won’t be long until players know exactly when they can expect to learn what the next Final Fantasy 14 expansion is going to be.
Fan Festival, also simply referred to as FanFest, is a Final Fantasy 14 convention tour that takes place roughly every two years to reveal new expansions and other major announcements for the critically-acclaimed MMORPG. The last Fan Festival's circuit took place in 2023 and 2024 to announce the Final Fantasy 14 Xbox port and Dawntrail expansion, meaning gamers have been due for new FanFest dates, though nothing concrete has been shared for the entirety of 2025.

When Will Final Fantasy 14 Announce FanFest Dates?
- August 27 at 12 AM PT/3 AM ET.
Now, it seems like Final Fantasy 14 is finally ready to reveal when the next FanFest will take place. A new announcement has been scheduled on the official Final Fantasy 14 YouTube channel for August 27 at 12 AM PT titled “A Message of Celebration on Final Fantasy 14's 12th Anniversary.” While Final Fantasy 14 has been coy as to what exactly will be shared in this announcement, it will almost certainly be confirmation regarding the dates and locations of the next Fan Festival conventions, which themselves will likely start this year and run into 2026.
Beyond the expected FanFest dates, Final Fantasy 14 could share some other big announcements during this message as well. Fans might learn when the next Letter From the Producer LIVE will take place, which will give players their first look at Patch 7.4. They may even get a teaser for the rumored Final Fantasy 14 Switch 2 port, though that seems like something that could be saved for FanFest itself, if it is indeed happening.
Typically, the FanFest circuit is spread across three venues – Las Vegas, one in Japan, and one in Europe. Most tours started in October or November, with the subsequent conventions taking place in December or January and February or March, respectively. While this run could follow the same pattern, it could also be a little delayed, due to the announcement itself coming much later in the year than usual.
Notably, this announcement is coming on the heels of some significant drama after Mare Synchronos, a popular fan-run mod that let players share texture loadouts with one another, was shut down by Final Fantasy 14. Hopefully, fans upset by the loss of this third-party tool can still look forward to these big announcements on the horizon.
