Final Fantasy 14 has many different types of quests that can be explored by players with different goals. The Main Scenario Quests are an important part of the game, and it is through them the story is told, but Content Unlock Quests can be just as interesting for those who want to unlock content not initially available, and Levequests can be useful when leveling up, particularly for leveling crafting classes fast.
Also called Guildleves, these quests work differently from regular quests, with one of their most noticeable feature being that they are repeatable — something that isn't true for many other types of quests in Final Fantasy 14. They are only available after following a few steps, but Levequests can be found in many of the game's amazing locations, and their rewards show why they can be worth doing.

Are Levequests Worth Doing In Final Fantasy 14?
Levequests are a specific type of quest in Final Fantasy 14 that can be unlocked as early as level 10. One of the game's many features, they are repeatable and reward players with experience and gil, as well as materials, items, and Grand Company Seals, depending on the type of Leve.
- Battlecraft and Grand Company Leves are combat-focused and can be completed by Disciple of War and Magic jobs.
- Tradecraft Leves are focused on crafting jobs, the Disciples of the Hand.
- Fieldcraft Leves can be completed by the Disciples of the Land.
- Temple Leves are harder and more costly but offer better rewards and include all previously mentioned types.
The game introduces Leves through the Main Scenario Quests, but it might not be immediately clear whether the player should start doing them then or not. As a general rule, it's best to avoid Levequests while leveling up your main job, simply because the rewards don't make it worth it. Unless you need a very small amount of experience to level up, the MSQ and dungeons will be a lot more helpful.
Leves can be worth doing when leveling a second job since you won't have the generous XP earned through completing the MSQ, but they shouldn't be the main content done to level Disciple of War and Magic jobs. The reason for that is that they are not the most efficient source of XP, with Deep Dungeons and Roulettes being much more effective. Much like FATEs, though, it's possible to use them early on, before other leveling options are available, or as filler while queueing to do other content. While leveling DPS jobs, for example, it's common to face longer queues, and leves could be a way to earn some XP while waiting.
The situation changes when it comes to the game's crafting and gathering jobs. Levequests give players a decent amount of XP for the Disciple of the Hand and Land jobs, and they can be a particularly useful and easy way to obtain materials. In this case, they are a good option for leveling and highly recommended.
While before A Realm Reborn Guildleves were meant to be a significant part of the experience, Final Fantasy 14 moved away from it over time. The Battlecraft Leves were set aside after Heavensward, and the Levequest system became focused exclusively on Disciples of the Hand and Land from Stormblood forward (level 60 and above).
Achievement hunters should know there are Achievements tied to Leves. The same goes for players pursuing Zodiac Weapons, A Realm Reborn's Relic Weapons, as one step of the journey will require completing 3 specific ARR Leves — a simple task, but one that will require that players use the system anyway.

How To Complete Levequests In Final Fantasy 14
The level 9 MSQ which will unlock Leves is the same that unlocks inn rooms. The quest's name, NPC, and location will vary according to the player's starting city:
- Gridania: "Spirithold Broken," picked up with Galfrid at Central Shroud (X: 23.4, Y: 19.9)
- Limsa Lominsa: "Just Deserts," picked up with Staelwyrn at Middle La Noscea (X: 25.6, Y: 17.0)
- Ul'dah: "Way Down in the Hole," picked up with Zuzumeda at Central Thanalan (X: 20.7, Y: 18.3)
After that, players must complete the level 10 Content Unlock Quest relative to their location:
- Gridania: "Leves of Bentbranch," picked up with Gontrant at New Gridania (X: 11.7, Y: 13.4)
- Limsa Lominsa: "Leves of Swiftperch," picked up with T'mokkri at Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 11.0, Y: 11.0)
- Ul'dah: "Leves of Horizon," picked up with Eustace at Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X: 12.0, Y: 9.1)
The Levemete will give the player a trial Leve to complete. After doing so successfully, Guildleves will be unlocked for that area, but it's important to note this process must then be repeated for each zone the player wants to unlock Leves for. This means it will be necessary to talk to the Levemete responsible for each location and go through a trial Leve before doing Leves whenever arriving in a new area.
To start a Levequest, the player must speak to the Levemete, who will present them with a list of the available quests. Clicking on one of them, and then on the accept button, will add the Leve to the journal. This won't start the quest right away; the player will need to open the journal to click the initiate button and actually start the Levequest. While a general location for the quest will be marked in green before initiating the quest, it's only after it starts that the objectives will be shown with more precision on the minimap.
Always pay attention to the Levequest and its location before initiating it. Some have to be completed within a time limit that will be counted from the moment the quest is initiated.
Players can only have up to 16 Guildleves in the journal at the same time. There is no limit to how many Levequests can be done per day, though, as they can be repeated as long as the player has enough allowances. 3 of these are gained every 12 hours automatically, but the maximum number of allowances a player can have is 100 — anything earned after that will simply be lost.
To abandon a Levequest, the process is the same as regular quests. The player must simply click the quest and choose the "Abandon" option below the quest's description.
