In Final Fantasy 14's new expansion, Endwalker, there are some very memorable quests that bring players through the story. One of these quests is In From the Cold, a quest that not only is timed but also takes away the player's skills, spells, equipment, and even their Endwalker mounts.

In From the Cold Quest

In From the Cold is a level 83 main scenario quest for Endwalker's storyline. It's given by the NPC Lucia and takes place in Garlemald. During this quest, the Warrior of Light is replaced by an "Unknown Imperial." And players have a time limit to take this unnamed warrior back to Camp Broken Glass. Players will only have access to a Paladin buff, an attack, and whatever healing kits they can find on the bodies of their fallen comrades.

While this might seem like a straightforward task, the Unknown Imperial is a pretty weak character, and they will die quickly unless the player keeps to the shadows. Also, the quest objective is a little misleading. In order to complete this Final Fantasy 14 quest, Camp Broken Glass is not the final destination.

Finding the Immobilized Magitek Reaper

The actual objective of this quest is to find and refuel the Immobilized Magitek Reaper (not to be confused with the new Reaper Endwalker class). This target is located at X: 23.9, Y: 16.9, and the fuel needed to get it back up and running is located at X: 27.3, Y: 13.5. Players also have to find an ID card all while avoiding battles as often as possible. So the order of necessary items to complete the quest goes like this:

  • Sneak over to the Immobilized Magitek Reaper X: 23.9, Y: 16.9
  • Inspect it
  • Find the fuel to the northeast at a wrecked Reaper, located at X: 27.3, Y: 13.5
  • Bring the fuel back while avoiding detection
  • Interact with the Immobilized Magitek Reaper
  • It needs an ID card that can be found on a wounded Imperial at X: 23.5, Y: 16.2
  • Bring the ID card back to the Immobilized Magitek Reaper
  • The Reaper will now be active

Using the Immobilized Magitek Reaper

Players can now shoot down the enemies using the Reaper's three attacks. While the Reaper can't move, it can still do a lot of damage. Use both targeted and the one AOE attack to take out all enemies. After completing this sequence, players will leave the Reaper and come across a group of Armed Imperial Citizens. Help them. When the screen goes black, get ready for a quick time event. This will complete the quest In From the Cold. Now players can continue the story and hunt for the Endwalker Level Cap.

Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
