Ahead of the 86th episode of Letter From The Producer Live, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida said the upcoming Patch 7.2 will have "the largest amount of content yet" in the game. Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2 will include new main story quests, a new raid tier, and side content for crafters, gatherers, and combat-focused players to enjoy.
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2, Seekers of Eternity, will go live in late March. The main features of the 7.2 update will be scattered throughout multiple patches. Late March's release will see Job adjustments, new main story quests which include a dungeon and a trial, and the next tier of the Arcadion raid series. The Arcadion's Cruiserweight division will test players' coordination and have tighter damage checks than the Light-Heavyweight tier. Additionally, the Cruiserweight's Savage fights will be released one week after the Normal mode goes live. Ergo, Final Fantasy 14's raiding squads will have extra time to prepare for a challenging multiplayer spectacle.

Though Final Fantasy 14 will discuss Patch 7.2 during the upcoming Live Letter broadcast on March 14 at 6:00 AM Eastern, Yoshida took time to discuss Seekers of Eternity's main features. In a Famitsu interview that was translated by the r/FFXIV subreddit, Yoshida stated that two of Patch 7.2's largest features, Cosmic Exploration and the Occult Crescent field operation, will launch one month apart. This means that Cosmic Exploration will arrive approximately four weeks after Patch 7.2 hits servers, with the Occult Crescent launching another month after that. Cosmic Tools and Phantom Relic Weapon quests will also be available once their respective content goes live. Given how much content is in the Patch 7.2 series, Yoshida said that Seekers of Eternity will have "the largest amount of content yet" for Final Fantasy 14 players to consume.

Along with Cosmic Exploration, gatherers will also have the Mamool Ja allied society quests to sink time into. Final Fantasy 14's Seekers of Eternity update will also introduce PVE and PVP Job adjustments, which will include the Pictomancer. A new "jog" function will be added, which will allow players who use Sprint in a city or hub to move at a brisk pace once the effect expires.
Other features like the Raid Whiteboard and a new Deep Dungeon will also launch in Patch 7.3, which will likely arrive in August or September 2025. Given how much content is coming soon to Final Fantasy 14, only time will tell how Dawntrail' s post-game features will compare to past expansions like Stormblood and Shadowbringers.
