PvP in Final Fantasy 14 was in a tumultuous spot for a long time until Endwalker Patch 6.1. The update completely revamped PvP in Final Fantasy 14 by giving every class unique kits, and introducing the brand-new Crystalline Conflict mode. The update was massively popular among fans, causing a PvP revival in Final Fantasy 14 that is still going today.
Final Fantasy 14 Adding Helpful Feature for New Players in Patch 7.1
Final Fantasy 14 is adding some features to the Hall of the Novice that will help new players adapt to endgame content in Patch 7.1.
Now, it seems like PvP is getting a major refresh in Final Fantasy 14’s next major update. During its recent Letter from the Producer Live, FF14 confirmed some big news for PvP in the critically-acclaimed MMORPG: action execution and hit detection is getting an extensive update to improve reactivity, all jobs except Pictomancer and Viper are receiving additional actions and adjustments, and the Red Sands and Cloud Nine arenas for Crystalline Conflict in Final Fantasy 14 are getting various improvements. What’s more, Frontline and Rival Wings will both be adjusted to help balance the massive battles.
Upcoming PvP Changes in Final Fantasy 14
- An extensive update to the execution and hit detection of PvP actions to improve reactivity and avoid situations where it feels like shields or heals don’t go off in time.
- New PvP job actions for every class in Final Fantasy 14 except Pictomancer and Viper, and adjustments to existing ones.

The PvP adjustments won’t end there. In addition to the changes coming with Patch 7.1 in November, Final Fantasy 14 is already planning a massive update to Frontline in Patch 7.2. The changes coming in the next patch act as a prelude to this larger overhaul, so fans can look forward to learning more about what it will entail early next year.
This was the first of two Live Letters planned for Patch 7.1. While the date for the second one hasn’t been formally announced yet, 7.1 is planned for release in mid-November. These second Live Letters usually drop about two weeks before their respective content updates, so players can probably expect the next one in early November. The livestream will likely have information about these PvP changes, possibly including some in-game footage, so fans of Crystalline Conflict, Frontline, or Rival Wings in Final Fantasy 14 won’t want to miss the presentation ahead of the patch itself.
