Main scenario quests in Final Fantasy 14 usually aren't that hard to complete, even if they challenge you with a dungeon or trial. A Calculated Evolution Password Answer
A Calculated Evolution is a simple quest until the very end, where you're required to input a password into the director's terminal in order to complete the mission. The answer to the puzzle isn't very far from the terminal itself, but the hints the game gives you can be misinterpreted, leading you to the wrong answer.
The password to the director's terminal in A Calculated Evolution is Honesty, Devotion, Protection. The key to the puzzle lies in the three colored jewels on display next to the terminal. After speaking to everyone in the room and interacting with everything you can, you'll be able to slot in a green piece of alexandrite next to the existing garnet and sapphire.
A scrawled phrase at the bottom of the frame instructs you to "heed the stones," and you'll be reminded that Alexandrians have special meanings for gemstones. Talk to Sphene, and she'll explain what each of them represents. Each gem also corresponds to a different room, so if you combine all the information you have, you can deduce the passwords for the protolab, deuterolab, and director's office.
After this puzzle, you can complete A Calculated Evolution and continue on with the rest of Patch 7.3's main scenario quests. It's a great conclusion to a lot of Dawntrail's story arcs, and there's even more to see after the main story is over. You can try to get some of the new Final Fantasy 14 mounts and minions from the Vault Oneiron Treasure Dungeon, for example.
