Final Fantasy 16 received its best discount yet, as the PS5-exclusive title is 50% off for Black Friday weekend on Amazon. The retail giant listed physical copies of Final Fantasy 16 at $35 USD as part of its slate of Cyber Monday deals, so gamers who have been waiting to play the latest entry in the Final Fantasy series will have an opportunity to do so and save money.
Created and developed by Creative Business Unit 3, the same studio behind the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, Final Fantasy 16 quickly became a divisive entry in the series. Between its initial PS5 exclusivity period and its action-based style of combat, Final Fantasy 16 developed a reputation for breaking a lot of the series' traditions. However, the game continued to receive support in the form of free updates that fixed issues and brought in features in response to player feedback. These included additional control schemes, a motion blur slider, and cosmetic outfits for Clive and other cast members.
Final Fantasy fans who have been on the fence about playing Final Fantasy 16 will have the opportunity to do so at a major discount. Through Cyber Monday at the very least, physical copies of Final Fantasy 16 are available on Amazon for $35, which is a 50% discount on the standard $70 price tag. In Final Fantasy 16, players assume the role of Clive Rosfield, the Dominant of the fiery Eikon Ifrit, who wields the powers of the various Eikons of Valisthea such as Garuda, Titan, and more. Clive is voiced by English actor Ben Starr, who was nominated for the category Best Performance at The Game Awards 2023.

The discount on Final Fantasy 16 arrives at a good time. Game producer Naoki Yoshida announced at PAX West 2023 that the game would receive two paid DLCs and confirmed that there would be a PC port of Final Fantasy 16. While the game remains exclusive to the PS5 at the time of writing, the exclusivity period expires on December 31, 2023. While that does not mean a PC port will automatically be listed in early 2024, only time will tell when Square Enix and Yoshida will offer more information on both the DLC and the PC port of FF16.
The 50% discount on Final Fantasy 16 joins a growing list of Black Friday video game deals for gamers to consider this shopping season. Gamers who take advantage of the deal will be in for one of 2023's most compelling thrill rides that the PS5 has to offer.
