A Final Fantasy 16 player discovers a strange bug that gives Clive Rosfield an invisible Buster Sword. This bug appears to be an uncommon issue in Final Fantasy 16 following the launch of the Echoes of the Fallen DLC, which includes the iconic Buster Sword as a redeemable item.

During The Game Awards 2023, Square Enix revealed the Echoes of the Fallen DLC to much fanfare from the Final Fantasy 16 community. After meeting a few requirements in Final Fantasy 16, the DLC lets players explore an intriguing new story questline set before the conclusion of the main story. Echoes of the Fallen also pays tribute to prior Final Fantasy entries, with Cloud Strife's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7 and the reprised Omega Weapon being obtainable weapons. However, it appears that the Buster Sword may be affected by a bug after the release of Final Fantasy 16 update 1.21.

Final Fantasy 16 player mbrock199494 recently encountered a bizarre bug that causes Clive's newly acquired Buster Sword to become invisible while wielded. The exact cause of this bug is currently unknown, but the user speculates that a playthrough using a save file from the Final Fantasy 16 demo may cause this bug to appear. Fortunately, the bug appears to affect the weapon's appearance only. The user tests out the invisible Buster Sword on a nearby rock wall, showing that the weapon makes successful contact. Moreover, the Buster Sword remains invisible when Clive puts the weapon away on his back.

Thus far, the bug only appears to affect the Buster Sword after it's been obtained from the Redeemable Items menu. Reddit user JP_Zikoko jokingly remarks that the visual bug "unlocks the Monk job" for Clive, since the invisible Buster Sword makes the protagonist appear as if he's throwing punches. A bug fix will likely come in a future update as fans wait for more details about the game's next DLC expansion, Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide.

The iconic Buster Sword is just one of many new weapons and gear pieces from Final Fantasy 16's latest DLC. More weapons will likely be introduced in The Rising Tide expansion, which is expected to be the last major piece of content for Final Fantasy 16. Additionally, fans may look forward to the upcoming PC release of Final Fantasy 16. Game producer Naoki Yoshida suggests PC gamers have an SSD before installing Final Fantasy 16, since it will provide an optimal experience that's free of hard disk drive limitations and glitches.
